At the rate India are going, Australia might have to bat 4 sessions to save this game. Pitch may stay truer than usual as effectively a four day test not five, but draw feels a bit short at 1.27

If India keep this rate up that's a possibility but I could see getting at least 300 runs which would likely kill the game.

if or when dhawan falls the draw price will surely come in and india drift? even against this attack it will be extremely difficult to keep this run rate up. the other thing im worried about is do india want to win this test? at the end of the day a draw wins them the series so why risk it? on the flip side although its a fine surface to bat on this was the only decent total aussie have posted this series and it would be unlikely that starc will get a score close to that second innings or even in the rest of his career.

Agreed, draw is most likely result but India are giving themselves a chance, just feel 1.27 is a little short.

absolutely. very aggrieved that one of the oz top scorers didn't fail or the game would be much more in india's favour

has it crossed anyone's mind that clarke could make one of his patented declarations say 150 if he got the chance in one last roll of the dice to try and win the test and save the series?

fear the worst for them in the ashes.hopefully im wrong. could rain all summer and they will settle for a 0-0 draw

By:

When: 16 Mar 13 11:57
okay you can accept 4 runs an over rr, but 5 in test match is going to far
By:

got to fear for them in the ashes.  Nothing in this pitch to be fair, but that doesnt excuse the poor discipline with length/bad balls as you say.

Looks like India to bat most of tomorrow, after which Aus should bat out the draw.

at this rate india dec 650 and will end up having 130 overs to bowl out aussies

it's GSM DRAW here mugs . a result is impossible with the time left .
By:

When: 16 Mar 13 12:59
There's 200 overs left & the ball is already disturbing the surface. India will bat 100 more overs @ 3.5 = 350 + current score 283. That's 633, say 650. Australia will then have to bat 100 overs on the last day with the ball turning & reverse swing, with a fallible batting line up that could disintegrate even in non spinning conditions. Also remember all the Aussie batsmen (apart from Cowan), are stroke makers and will give the bowlers a chance. It's no way a certainty, but I'm feeling very confident having laid the draw at 1.20!

ur logic is completely wrong son . india will not have 100 overs to bowl out the aussie's , they will of course have less as the aussie's will easily go past india's score on this flat as a pancake pitch , leaving india to need to chase down that score if ( BIG IF ) the indian mugs can bowl out the aussie's . there is just no result possible here whatever way u look at the game .

never heard such a load of tripe! Have you watched the last few games. It's a different game when India bowl and the pitch is starting to break up! Glad that you disagree as you are the sort of person that keeps me wealthy!! I've literally made a fortune in the last 2 games of Ind v Aus

india will just look to score quick runs tommorow and maybe with around a 250 run lead around tea time possibly look to declare. Australia cant win this, this is a fact and India will be going for the win and possibly white washing the Aussies 4-0, they have bigger fish to fry

With a day lost and Oz putting on 400, I thought the draw pretty much nailed on. But the speed Dhawan got his runs has blown this open.

India declare with an hour to go, and the match will hinge on that last hour. If Oz lose even 1 wicket, then I'd have India to win.

How much lower will the draw go before India declare? Hardly at all, I'd say.

need first2 sessions like yesterday and be around 150 infront by tea. Shocked

brown pants time then for 1.1x backers.

Another 15 overs  could see india 250 infront with 115 overs left.

brown pants, sweaty hands, going grey, feeling ill time for 1.1x backers.

Could morse tip another gubbing?  lol

Ridiculous from India, Doherty just bowled two maidens in a row, is he really that good a bowler against Tendulkat and Vijay?
By:

When: 17 Mar 13 06:47
Now they have scored 14 runs in the last eleven overs, Tendulkar has'nt scored for over four overs, surely this ultra passive play suits Australia more than India.

All depends on when/if Dhoni declares. Still seeing a last hour declaration. Assuming India aren't bowled out first.
