They ll still get 300 probably.

By:
lay england .. easy and safe bet
By:
250 an absolute bare minimum to have hopes to staying in the game. 200 you're just out of it barring a miracle. the draw's a goner regardless
By:
just laid SA seems the only logical move at the mo.. price wont be coming in for any time soon and when england do get to bat and if they can put some early partnerships together we aint never gonna see this SA price all match
By:
The draw is an interesting bet now. This is still a very good pitch and the sun may well come out.
By:
Saffers take early wickets and it'll be game on again with Eng's middle order. Even if SA only made 200 they'll still be in with a chance.
By:
yea envy i take your point but there is so much upside to laying SA and if that does happen can exit for a small loss

when is the new ball due (whan can you take it)

Eng have another 5 wickets to take yet anyway. Spreads going with 251-261 total range.

Going back to the Kallis caught behind .... I was watching on telly and Holding and Botham both wittering on about how the glove was not on the bat.
I was calling them morons, because there was no mark on the glove ... the ball had clearly NOT hit the glove, so it didn't really matter whether it was holding the bat or not. However; there was a tiny white mark just below the shoulder of the bat, so I was not surprised when he was given out, and I thought everyone would be laughing at Mikey and Beefy for not realising that their original assumption was flawed. Come on here and read through the thread, and everyone seems to think it was a shocking decision by Tucker. I am surprised. Looked out to me. Forget where the glove was .... did it hit the bat or not. I think it did. |
By:
It didn't hit the bat. It did hit the glove. The glove was not touching the bat so it was not out.
But clearly you're the genius spassky and the rest of the world are all idiots. ![]() |

Time to get Swann off.
By:
There was no conclusive evidence via hotspot that it touched his glove but hotspot is unreliable so it cannot be used as conclusive that it did not hit the glove. The ball did appear to hit the glove and there was a noise, which, adds up to caught, however, on closer inspection it looks like the the glove the ball hit was not attached to the bat or the other glove so it should not have been given out. It was an appalling decision as the 4th umpire is there to make sure there are no obvious miscarriages of justice. There was so much doubt with the kallis decision he should have gone with the on field umpire that there was not enough evidence to over turn his decision.

Not a terrible session for SA this. Just frustrating AB threw his wicket away.
By:
wicket is still good.
i think England are looking pretty big here they will be delighted with anything under 275 |
By:
clouds rolling in...
By:
Swann doesn't look much of a threat to me despite all the screaming from fielders around the bat. Saffers would probably happy to see him bowl a long spell in the evening session.
By:
Spreads reckon SA will run close to 300 right now. If they get to 300+ England will be feeling pretty down.
By:
I agree that it was not a howler, and therefore should not have been over-turned. Not sure I called myself a genius EMG, just that I saw a white mark on the bat, and assumed that was what Tucker saw.
I did NOT see a mark on the glove. My point was to put a possible explanation for the decision. People saying that Tucker should be sacked etc. and only seeming to discuss whether or not the glove was on the bat; but if Tucker wasn't even considering the glove, it would make sense. Just saying. |

if sa get 300 england have blown it

Loving Yohan Blake. What a credit to Jamaca.

Watching with no sound on, unfortunately, but he seems to be getting a good response from the other two, lots of smiles and laughter.

By:
just for the record england have traded odds on at lords again. 18th match in a row i think. that didn't take long, did it ?
By:
England in danger of letting this match slip away from them. 54-4 is now 163-5

Puff of dust and spin for Swann

Quality, Anderson has a very sore foot. it could be a problem for England! This game is evenly balanced if England don't bowl SA out tonight. Punters still scared England cannot bat and this is reflected in the odds. I still think whoever bats on day 3 of this match will be in the box seat.

right with 20overs left in the day (not sure they get them all in with fading light possible) South africa stand at 198-6
England 2.28 Draw 3.9 South Africa 3.2 Id find it hard to back south africa right now, england batting should have enough to bat what is a proper score on this sound surface 320-350. South Africa rate is too low, id prefer to back the draw at 3.9 than south africa at a lower price as i see it more likely come into play if they get a big 2nd innings. |
By:
SA edging very close to 300 runs on the spreads again.
By:
Over rate's a disgrace.
By:
Can't imagine there being any light issues tho.
By:
there was a 15 minute delay after lunch. should get the 90 in by 6.45

By:
Great partnership this. Slowly playing SA back into the game.

Laid the draw here but might start worrying soon.
