yeah, the anticipated rains haven't come.  Expected at 5pm though and all day sat/sun/mon - remains to be seen how much disruption they will cause.

still expected?

game not really going anywhere right now.  Rain or not draw still looks most likely.  No DRS is making a big difference

and almost as if there had been no rain - monsoon type climate.  SL need to accelerate it here to avoid the draw

collapse - though ironically might help them if they get early wickets

When: 23 Jun 12 13:05
In fairness to Nigel imo he wasn't ramping the draw. He was just a bit green about the weather forecasts for Galle.

that's cricket for you.  Yeah, weather forecasts clearly mean nothing here.

follow on likely to be forced - could be wrapped up tomorrow - lol
By:

When: 23 Jun 12 13:13
alternatively, PAK could still score another 250 and game could end in a draw - totally unpredictable like the weather here - lol

Pak's batting is pretty weak at the best of times and pretty shocking here without Misbah.

anyone think Lanka are pretty short here at 1.23? Pakistan v SL matches in all formats are unpredictable at the best of time and I'd guess there's still a chance of some rain (I have really no idea about the rain to be honest). Even so, Pakistan showed fight with the bat in the series v England and can be obdurate when they need to be
By:

In a word no - I actually think they are too long!  PAK need 220 runs to avoid the follow on - this could be the key but I just can't see them doing it.

Forget the rain - it dries so quick there and they can play on 45 mins to complete overs that it shouldn't knock too many out.

Total turn around in my thinking but the rain fooled me.

Unless there is a lot of rain sri lanka will win easily here. Galle is a result wicket. Draw is a pure weather bet, this isn't the first time that large amounts of predicted rain have failed to appear at Galle. Pakistan batting lineup definitely one of the weakest in test cricket particularly without Misbah.

When: 23 Jun 12 18:57
indeed, will be looking out for any time in the future that the draw goes low here

There have been games washed out here - but you can't put any trust in forecast rain. One things for sure - the day I decide to ignore the threat of rain and lay the draw noah will be in businessLaugh

Cricinfo says not enforcing follow on! They must have a lot of faith in local weather.

When: 24 Jun 12 08:00
what on earth are they doing?
By:
betfire
When: 24 Jun 12 08:03
they may look to score another 130 n set a target of 500....
By:
nigelpm1
When: 24 Jun 12 08:04
but why? surely, they could bail them out very quickly and not need to bat at all.
By:
betfire
When: 24 Jun 12 08:09
they might fear batting last on this wkt n hence want to bat pak out....very defensive approach this
By:
nigelpm1
When: 24 Jun 12 08:11
almost insane I'd argue and wonder which bookie put them up to it - no further bets for me ever with these two sides involved - far too dangerous!
By:

When: 24 Jun 12 08:12
hope the ICC look at it - definitely match fixing for my money

When: 24 Jun 12 08:14
still won't be a draw unless there's a lot of rain
