Presuming the bad weather in the one day series is striking fear in the market - anyone actually in Galle?|
By:
i have no idea of the weather in Galle-but this draw price reminds me of the third test v the Windies in dec 2010 at Pallekelle, it rained so much that not one innings was completed and anyone laying the draw watched their money drip away with the rain.
so tempting to lay the draw @ 1.5ish but no play for me at present with the above in mind. |

By:
just seen draw gone back over 1.6 still not getting involved without accurate weather info
By:
Draw drifted a bit, and SL coming in.
Been picking up some Pakistan at 6.6 and 6.8 this morning - can't be having the better team at that price at a result venue. |

Looks like a good chance of two days being wiped out : http://www.yr.no/place/Sri_Lanka/Southern/Galle/

By:
make that first three. Draw actually looks value here.
By:
Same FC every game at Galle... not many draws here and the Draw Backers best mate Misbah is out.
By:
So what happens lix every game? They play in the rain/it dries quick/weather forecast is always wrong. surely if this is the case you are heavily laying the draw here?
From the weather forecast I can see they'll be lucky to get 90 overs in total in. |

It rains every day at galle, showers sweep in off the sea, the point is sometimes it might rain in the morning some times in the afternoon, but mostly in the evening.
The pitch itself is a result orientated deck that should suit Pakistans spinners down to the ground 6.X seems madness given paks recent dominance in this form of the game. The only worry I would have is that this is an unusual time to be playing tst cricket in SL so the weatehr might be slightly less predictable than it normally is here (that's to say, it's mormally completely unpredictable )GL all |
By:
ah, cheers for that. This does appear different though in that it's likely to rain most of the time and it's not just showers. Could be a good learning experience this Test - only a small backing of the draw so far
By:
That's fair enough, i've left alone so far, would have layed the 1.5X if i'd seen it when it got that short. And very tempted by the 6.X on pakistan, will probably have a small bit of that. But like i said bellow time of the year is different to a usual SL test series so the weather may be different than the norm.

didnt rain at all in March dougy. This is the rainy season now though

what do you think about the difference in the sl and pak price lix, looks out to me given the pak bowling attack.
By:
Pak huge aint they. Misbah missing is a huge negative for draw backers here which I really dont think has been factored in properly.
The test series between these two in SL a few years ago was littered with collapses and big prices copping including a 24.0+ Draw win. The SL-Aus game here was pretty much done in 3 days. |
By:
The pitch was so dry in that game lix that day1 was like a 5th day wicket.
By:
big movement on the draw price last hour or so wish i had got a lay in when it was around the 1.55 mark!!
By:
yeah, not sure why. Nothing has changed forecast wise. tempted to back again - just holding fire for now though - market overreactions are quite common
By:
of course i take on board the points raised by the guys earlier - will be interesting to see hoe much play we get tomorrow - by the forecasts now though it looks like none.
By:
Draw about to hit evens
By:
very odd. will be interesting to watch this
By:
agree about Pakistan
but maybe get double digits with a couple of wickets or 50/0 for SL |
By:
lol someone's just stuck a rocket under the draw price

By:
yeah, the anticipated rains haven't come. Expected at 5pm though and all day sat/sun/mon - remains to be seen how much disruption they will cause.
By:
How low can SL go before Pak bat?
I'm not sure but I'm laying em now at 2.24. will have some Pak at juicy odds too as collapses are never far away when these two meet. |
By:
Dilshan gone.
big break through for Pakistan. if they can get another one soon they could easily get them out 350 or less with a good old Lankan collapse. |
By:
Seems like only one person anticipated rains on here!
By:
nothing like a good 13 run over to save your bacon after making a bet on the overs run line (At 65 overs) just before a wicket falls!
go Jaya lad! |
By:
Taxed - was also predicted by most forecasts/media
By:
the forecasts always predict rain at galle , and it rarely rains as much as is predicted ...we've seen it all before at this ground
By:
makes the draw lay more profitable though

at what point would SL declare? Any thoughts on this based on past history etc.. It seems their best chance of winning given there is likely to be be some disruption to play (albeit not as much as first thought) unless PAK collapse twice or follow on
By:
Surely there wont be time to declare if there is going to be 3 days lost as stated in your previous post/ramp?
