By:
will lunch still be at 1pm? cheers
By:
Should be
By:
cheers, I reckon we'll see some adjustment on the draw price during lunch IF windies are still 1 down. 1.11ish after lunch I reckon
By:

By:
should be 1.05

By:
draw price almost insane but not ready to take on more risk yet
By:

By:
and so the adjustment begins, 1.12 already
By:
Just pummelled it at 1.13 - Big risk now but not concerned at all
By:
as in the words of guys earlier in the thread - it's lump and leave territory.
By:
And England are gonna bowl Windies out twice and in 3days and bat themselves and all in between 2later days of showers,YEAH RIGHT
By:
as I noted earlier in the thread alfie - it was about 10% chance - pretty unlikely

Surely the review system is flawed.
West Indies lose a review for a ball that is just clipping leg stump that was given out by the umpire. England lose a referral for an lbw that is clipping the top of the bails that was given not out by the umpire. Both clipping stumps. Both lose a review. One given out, one not out. That is a paradox. Surely when the ball is actually making contact with the stumps then the referral should not taken away from the appealing side. |

i get your point and i've argued that as well at times but it depends on how you veiw the system.
If you still think the primacy of the decision rests with the standing umpire, then you have to accept that challenging his decision should only be when it is clear that he has made an error. In those instances i think it's safe to say the ump hasn't made an error. So theirfore you lose your review. Every ball is an out or not out ball, it's up to the umpire to decisde which is which, previously a ball missing by 6 inches or an inside edged ball could have been classed as an out ball by the umpire. All DRS does is assist the umpire to make his job of deciding the out from the not out balls more accurately. Out and not out are not absolutes, they are states that are decided by the umpires interpretation of the law, the DRS system simply works to assist with that process. |

By:
I understand your thinking dougy, and you are correct about the out and not out ball depedning on the umpire.
But try explaining to someone who has knows nothing about the rules of the game that you get two lbw decisions both clipping the stumps and both teams lose a review and one is out and one is not out. Paradoxically that can't be right. |
