would SL slow the over rate down if England get on top, they're on target for 90+ today, despite England trudging through the morning?

When: 04 Apr 12 09:32
think it will be pretty tough to not bowl the 90

given spinners being main weapon and fact that play can go on past 12.30pm, no light issues

plus england hardly smashing it to all parts hence ball alot of time back in bowlers hand pretty quick with lots of blocks and dabs to men in close

they'll bowl the 90, but will they bowl 100 ish? Which is what they would do unless they elect to slow things down

never leave a big red exposure on the draw in Sri Lanka

been burnt too many times by the random weather

When: 04 Apr 12 10:22
think england and draw would be shorter at the expense of sri lanka who would be over 10/1 imo

Biggest green, on draw, small green on eng and big red on lanka for me. Will see how things are at the end of the day and take it from there.

All this talk about "England are scoring too slowly so there will be a draw" is either designed to deliberately mislead or by people who don't understand this version of the sport.

Strauss, Pietersen and co have been criticised for getting out for small totals doing sweeps and other crazy stuff out here. Clearly, they want to give England a solid platform to build on and I think they have pretty much done that.

Do you really think when we are down the batting order with 300 or something on the board, the guys at the crease are going to settle for the odd run?

I wasnt saying it will be a draw because england scoring slow, they are doing it right

my point was that draw price will drop for combination of slow scoring and lack of wickets with pitch at present looking ok

fwiw as said yesterday think england will win the test but draw was always coming in from 4 if england didnt lose wicket in last session
By:
mcfc1981
When: 04 Apr 12 10:42
the draw is all on sri lanka batting 4-5 session 2nd innings

When: 04 Apr 12 10:50
are test pitches bigger than t20/odi pitches?
By:
cnman
When: 04 Apr 12 10:54
yeah generally they bring the ropes in for T20s/ODIs kingmax, always with T20s at least.

This big back of SL at 5.3 doesn't seem to want to move with singles being scored

hoping england only 1 or 2 wickets max down today, trailing by about 120,then push on after lunch tomorrow if all goes wellHappy

I'm pretty sure that last night England would have been happy with SL all out for 275 and to be more than 100-0 by stumps on the second day...

PLEASE TELL THE TRUTH
When: 04 Apr 12 11:15
sporting have england in for a 150 lead Shocked will be very significant with englands tall seamers with uneven bounce

You're going to need weather for the draw, kingmax. This will be a result one way or the other. Probably better off getting on England now...
