we could possibly win the league against Hampshire at Liverpool on saturday 10th Sept and with any luck it will be at about 5.00 so i dont have to go to Goodison that day !

Sad day for the county Championship when such a poor side looks like winning the competition.
|
|
By:
its been like that for years now though
The days were teams like somerset would have Garner, Richards and Botham playing most games have long gone Even Lancs sides 15 years ago had fairbrother, Atherton, Crawley, Watkinson, Akram etc - 8 or 9 internationals and we came no where near winning the championship - this side is not a patch on those sides |

the nugget and screamingfrombeneaththewaves can't stand the thought of Lancashire even coming close to winning the title
![]() There's some world-class seething elsewhere on this forum about the number of Durham, Warwickshire and Somerset players who've been called up by England for the ODI in Ireland. Very satisfying ![]() |

Through gritted teeth, but Peter Moores has done a hell of a job this season getting basically average batsmen like Horton, Croft and Karl Brown to improve into good ones who get consistently good scores. Where is the "can't stand the thought" please? We appreciate exciting cricket down here. Also, why do you think Zum fans should be seething about Kieswetter's call-up for England vs Ireland? We don't even have a Ch'ship game next week. Will any of you Lancs supporters be making the long journey down from, er, Slough for the title decider? |

All eyes on the big one at Colwyn Bay today, which will effectively decide the finest one day side in the land.
Any news of the score? |

I've booked my hotel for Taunton
![]() I'll be there on days 2, 3 and 4 - and if we can't win the title or there's a monsoon forecast, I can cancel my room and get a full refund! Well done to the Yorkshire Invertebrates, by the way, for their surrender against Warwickshire. I hope the white flag county enjoy the second division after today's contemptible performance. |

By:
i would imagine 2 days will be enough should it be a straight shootout with zum. batsmen will need waders so green and damp will the wicket be.

Lancs been preparing dodgy wickets all year. Hope Worcestershire put them away.
|
|
By:
Lancs hoping Yorkshire can do them a favour and beat Warwicks or hold them to a draw. Shame Yorks are so flaky ....
|
|
By:
warwicks in good position to win match, 2 games to go after that. shame lancs are so flaky too

As a long time bear, I will not be convinced until the last ball of the season. Looking good for us though.

Looks like this odious club have produced another filthy result wicket at Liverpool.
|
|
By:
nothing wrong with a result wicket surely !
lets see if it lasts more than 1.5 days like our last match at worcester or are you saying that the lancs groundsman also prepared that wicket FYI the last time lancs played at Liverpool the game was a draw with only a few hours lost to the weather - Lancs batting is so poor at the moment that i wouldnt back us to get 200 at Taunton so lets see how hants bat 1st |
|
By:
I actually caught someone today.
Interesting that you guys juggled the team around a fair amount today. |
|
By:
as toffee says they could make any wicket look like a result track at the moment. only passed 200 about once in the last 4 matches.
|
|
By:
The result at Worcester almost took the shine off my holiday to Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Almost, but not quite...
Chapple and Hogg have led us to a third batting point today. A decent effort from the "odious club" ![]() |
|
By:
I went for the last 2 hrs of play today - it didnt look like a filthy wicket from where i was sat - Chapple and Hogg were in no danger even once the new ball was taken.
Again the umpires make a nonsense of cricket going off for bad light - its suppose to be dangerous - they hadnt missed a ball for 2 hours ! |
|
By:
Title almost in Warwickshire's hands now.

yep a valiant effort by notts in losing just the 15 wickets so far today
