So it's Sussex away in the t20 quarter-finals. According to the Lancashire website, "The provisional date for this match is Saturday 6th August". That would be a right touch, as M&P could be making the long trek down to Hove. We owe them one for the 2006 C&G final.

but we play Gloucester at home in a day nighter the night before - so the game wont finish until 10.30 - so who knows !

Such fond memories of the 2006 C&G Final.Firstly, looked like rain all day but it never did, secondly sussex didnt set enough runs but won.Do well to get anything at Hove imo, lanky batting just not strong enough.

Such fond memories of the 2006 C&G Final I've got fond memories of that javelin thrower Kirtley getting five LBWs - including Law when he middled it into his pad and our last man when it pitched three inches outside leg stump. If there is any justice in this world, we will beat Sussex next month. |

Lancashire 189 & 340/7
Warwickshire 280 Lancashire lead by 246 runs with 3 wickets remaining Gary Keedy said yesterday that Lancy began day two wanting to set them 200 in the last innings. This could be a very twitchy one tomorrow. Lancy's mini-collapse means a draw might be out of the window if the weather's good tomorrow. In other news, six catches for Rikki Clarke - the best in 2011 and one short of equalling the world record. |

thought we looked a silly price considering the forecast for thursday was a shocker. that thin band of rain today that came up from cornwall and stubbornly refused to move was a real nasty shock.
thought we might get on for a hour or so tonight. probably best we didn't. might have lost 3 or 4 more in ideal bowling conditions. |

The annoying thing was that strictly they should not have played at all at Taunton today, as it was spitting with rain right from the start.
You had to feel for the spectators, of which there were between 1 and 2 thousand. They were well put away by the Met forecast for mostly dry with patchy rain. There was a huge blob of rain coming up from the Western Approaches on the radar overnight, which was when I was getting what I could on the draw, but the Met refused to revise their forecast. |

A brilliant day for Lancashire:
:: Lancs take less than an hour to beat Worcestershire :: Warwickshire are thrashed by Hampshire :: Somerset get just six points from their drawn game Lancashire don't have a Championship game until a week on Wednesday. Win that game against eighth-placed Worcs, and then again against bottom-of-the-table Hants the week after, and... |
