STAY AT HOME

You or your household can meet other households, for example in a park.

But you must STAY AT HOME

I was waiting for her genius messaging after being so critical of Boris Johnson. I wasn't disappointed Cry Genius Laugh

The first minister confirmed the easing of lockdown in Scotland at a podium bearing the words "stay at home".

She is not switching to "stay alert" or some other formulation at this stage.

When I asked her if the retained messaging still applied, Nicola Sturgeon insisted staying at home as much as you can remains the starting point.

tbf she has another day before the big reveal.

Sturgeon was the one claiming to be confused by stay alert, along with various luminaries from this forum. I'm confident it will be cleared up tomorrow.

As for Scotland not being populated by simpletons, it's fair to say its academic institutions and educational ethos have always been top rate. For an Englishman it's difficult to witness or excuse the degradation of our own set-up in comparison over the last few decades.

I regard Nicola Sturgeon as a masterly political operator - her agenda may be narrow, but one must respect her skill at furthering it. It would be a contortion to praise Farage - as I would - for single-handedly removing England from the questionable benefits of 40 years of EU membership, and then to deny Sturgeon credit for the momentum she has managed to create for her own cause, foolhardy though it unquestionably is.

Sadly, her obsession with her own bigger picture permits scant regard for the necessities, and with every day that passes the life chances of the children of Scotland are diminished, as are health outcomes across the board for all Scots. These are simple facts of public record, not opinions or propaganda.

She is also responsible, by word and deed, for a pernicious decline in fraternity between the peoples of Scotland and England, which is to nobody's advantage but may further inhibit the future prospects of generations of her countrymen to come.

There will come a time when the Braveheart schtick will be unable to disguise the disaster she has made of governance in Scotland. I hope and pray for my British brothers north of the border that that moment comes before she inflicts the greatest disaster of them all.

Some of the rules are pure comedy. I love the idea of going to a barbeque taking my own plate and food and not being allowed to use the toilet. Total rubbish that is unenforceable and nobody is likely to bother with anyway.

I can. Millions of folks up and down the country were following government advice. Now it turns out , the ones giving that advice aren't following it, why should anyone? You won't be prosecuted irrespective of what you do.

Assuming you're referring to Cummings, when was he ever giving anyone advice exactly.

As the Prime Ministers main adviser, it would be unreasonable to suggest he wasn't involved in the guidelines or strategy during this crisis.

Calderwood was repeatedly on the telly in Scotland telling people what to do I believe. And after going to a holiday home with her family twice, was given absolutely no sanctions by Sturgeon before attending a coronavius biefing to deliver the health message to fellow Scots Laugh

He may or mat not have been involved, he certainly was not giving advice, so you're factually wrong once again.

You have to realise that there are factors at play in every individual country that probably determine more than any Government action or inaction. You would hope we can relearn the lessons of 1918 and 1968 so that we are better prepared in future and more aware of the societal conditions which exacerbate the effects of any future outbreaks.

Sturgeon knew and still saw it fit for Calderwood to continue to be the face of public health advice. She was dropped after the humiliating press briefing before Sturgeon had full knowledge of her misdemeanors. That's not even considering the flat out lie they tried to pass it off as one visit for security checks Laugh

As he made clear in his Downing Street garden speech, he needs to contact the PM on dozens of occasions each day normally. Sometimes he does, sometimes he just goes ahead without consulting him.

I wouldn't think Cummings offers anybody medical advice, in fact it's quite preposterous to suggest he might. One can be fairly sure though that the distillation of that advice into a simple three word slogan was entirely his doing.
