It's more about seeing the bias. Once you see it you can deal with it. I do point them in the direction of some excellent thinkers like Douglas Murray.

dunno how people who are pro the government can hate MSM when the majority of papers kneecap Labour and will continue to. The one that doesn't is the least powerful of redtops and the other main one won't hesitate to stick the foot in if they veer to left

he went on a jolly to barnard castle ,he said he wasn't infected when he left London, [ so he was ok to drive ]on the 12th he,s still in 14 day quarantine and shouldn't be travelling 60 mile round trip anyway,  true/false

surely noone believes the "caring for child" sob story? the family had to self-isolate and fancied a little holiday in the country - simple as that.

Boris was always going to acquit Dom completely - anything else would implicate himself as he would have known exactly what Dom was up to. Noone's died here but Dom was badly at fault and it's disingenuous to suggest otherwise. This further bolsters Boris' reputation as a thoroughly untrustworthy individual.

good post. Only good to come out of it is publicity for Barnard Castle. Last time it became well-known was Dicken's story of child cruelty.

You may not be aware that my politics edges to the right of centre ,however I'm very much a one-nation tory . This Cummins business appalls me and unless he disappears within the next 48 hours my support of Johnson will evaporate. For many years politicians have fought hard to avoid resigning when caught however they invariably end up going ,but for God's sake this twerp isn't even a politician. Very strange that Johnson ,who is not renowned for his loyalty is risking his reputation over an advisor.

What does Cummings bring? Why are some people so attached to him? Can't they see he's toxic for the Tories and conservatism as a whole? That the longer he sticks around, the more the government entangles itself, the more toxic it will all get?

It feels like one big act of defiance towards "nasty radical leftists" rather than people having a realistic, pragmatic look at things. People are just twisting and turning things because they perceive it all a witch hunt against someone they deem on their side (regarding Cummings being on your side, or respecting you: LaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaugh)

haha. I've only voted twice in my life, once for Labour and Tony Bair before his first term, and Last December for Conservatives/Boris. In my day job I'm used to conversing with people who are, shall I say, not expert in my field so I can empathise somewhat Happy

Whether we agree or disagree what's important is our ability to listen and understand the opinions of others. But, we much not deviate from what's right, and what's wrong - legally or not.

But, Mr Cummings has not just broken the advice regarding lockdown rules (monitored and acted upon by police) concerning individuals with Covid-19 symptoms, and being unrepentant and non-remorseful and arrogant is akin to putting up 2 fingers to joe public and hiding behind the coat-tail of government.

Mr Cumming sis merely a political advisor not a teacher, health scientist or expert - he's a nobody as far as Covid-19 is concerned. Yet, he's been given the freedom to do, act and behave as he wishes.

It's the left that are creating this fuss, and it's obvious why. Even if you think he broke the rules it has been blown out of proportion. I wrote up thread we can't allow the laft wing media to play judge and jury. The other part is pretty clear, Boris is heavily reliant on Cummings.

Cummings has dirt on Boris and Boris knows the misfit will take a tour of vengeance if Boris isn't 100% behind him.

There is no other explanation for not even simply making him apologise and show a bit of humility to defuse the entire thing.

the times is obviously left wing, and the daily mail has turned against the gvt for a good while now. It's the broadcast media I'm referring to for the most part, but it was obviously a collusion between the mirror and the guardian originally. No doubting their left wing credentials.

Did you miss their supposed expose over PPE. The one that the government was forced into officially rebutting their lies. There's left wing and there's a Corbyn government.

I found it quite amusing to hear Johnson accuse the media reports of containing "palpably false" elements.
As someone who was fired for writing such articles, it tickled me to hear the words come out of his mouth.
