Did you, btw., know that Cummings is a huge, huge fan of China and the way it's run? You can see in the way he has taught the government to shut down debate about anything critical about themselves, and first and foremost himself, The Paramount Leader.

I don't. Obviously politicians need advisers that can come and go. If Cummings resigns so be it.

What I cannot stand people like the person who tweeted out against the government from the civil service and civil service leakers.

Stephen Reicher
@ReicherStephen

As one of those involved in SPI-B, the Government advisory group on behavioural science, I can say that in a few short minutes tonight, Boris Johnson has trashed all the advice we have given on how to build trust and secure adherence to the measures necessary to control COVID-19.

'2nd Spike' lol. What are you talking about? It is not a flu bug.

All government should be doing is give people the facts on IFRs and let them make their own choices.

All the rest is just noise

The Whitehall machine will be remodelled on the Chinese Communist Party

In many of his posts, Cummings argues that the civil service is ill-equipped to execute policy, and that 'failure is normal' because Whitehall has been built on a system of distorted relationships and incentives. In one section, 'China: a culture of learning from systems management', No. 10's new strategist applauds the People's Republic for its, 'massive innovation ecosystem that rivals Silicon Valley'. He compares the endemic failures he sees in the UK government with China's, 'use of proven systems management techniques for integrating principles of effective action to predict and manage complex systems at large scale.'

No doubt Cummings has already considered rolling out China's infamous social credit system to his new network of policy wonks and party underlings.

Lol at IT, "2nd spike what are you talking about?"

Very likely countries going a herd immunity route and doing little to stop spread,
that is your 2nd spike, your prized herd immunity.

Sorry is the hardest word for Dominic Cummings and Boris Johnson – and it means the public will lose further trust in politicians

Trust has been seriously eroded throughout this pandemic because of the inability to talk openly and honestly, we have to stop it going any further

[...]

I may not be a communications Svengali, so perhaps I am completely wrong, but I think that had Cummings just said sorry and admitted that he made a bad and panicky call, the public would have been cross but understanding. We have all found it hard to adjust after all.

Presumably, Boris couldn't answer the key question - who would run the country if Cummings resigned?

Any chance that Captain Sir Tom will come out against Cummings?

You'd have thunk on of the main questions to ask is why Cummings family lied about spending isolation in London. One can only imagine that having to create a cover story in the Spectator was because they knew they were in the wrong, otherwise, why bother?

Yet another blunder by this increasingly out of touch and useless buffoon. He has basically told the Great British public to go phuk themselves. All of the ordinary, honest people who have made huge sacrifices during this lockdown, doing the right thing and trying to help the country, All the NHS workers, all the carers, bus drivers, shopworkers, lorry drivers, cleaners, all the key workers who have suffered the lockdown with dignity and community spirit. All the voters (whoever they voted for) and all right-thinking people of this country. They have all been told that their efforts, sacrifices, diligence and honesty count for nothing. He has stuck two fat fingers up to all of them, including those who voted for him. Absolutely shameful behaviour from the worst Prime Minister this country has ever seen.

Cummings primary objective is to actually create distrust in politics and democracy?

So that it will then be replaced by something more efficient with him as Paramount Leader.
