Cider you can't answer that an neither could doris.

I'm not an expert lapsy pa, discharges to care homes has fallen over the period I believe. The entirely valid feasible reasoning I heard was that care homes couple provide better care for some patients than they would receive in hospital. People make out like it's straight forward, but of course it isn't. It won't have escaped your attention that care homes have faced a huge difficulty with this around the developed world.

Again you've dismissed lapsy pa's question without answering it.

In my view the opposition is entitled to ask valid questions and put forward viable solutions. Not happening though is it.

I agree with that Cider but where is the answer about the printouts? Best to say you don't know I think. My explanation and the obvious one is the the government didn't like the new stats so decided not to show them.

Believe it or not I'm nor medically qualified or have enough understanding of the individual situations to state whether I'm happy. I'm confident that they will have exercised their qualified medical judgement at the time.

I did answer, upthread.

I'm not medically qualified either but I really don't think that releasing at risk people from hospitals into care homes without any sort of testing and with out providing any sort of PPE was rational. That decision has undoubtedly cost thousands of lives.

Cider was this your answer:
They made an error putting the chart with the basic number of deaths on it at the early briefings, and it's most likely now UK has gone higher is at least partly why it has been removed.
By:
Charlie
When: 13 May 20 18:27
If not please quote it for me.
By:
Cider
When: 13 May 20 18:30
Part of it yes. The Conservatives have been far from perfect during the crisis, the original format of that chart was an error but even you may admit that the chart shows us nothing new now on a daily basis as the death rate is coming down in all countries.
By:
Charlie
When: 13 May 20 18:32
What was the other part of your answer?

You are trying to do a doris and not answer the question. Why was the chart shown for seven weeks when the UK was looking good and has now been dropped when it's looking bad?

There's absolutely no evidence patients being discharged to care homes 'undoubtedly cost thousands of lives'. One thing we do know as care home deaths have been very high in almost all wastern countries.

Posts crossed. There is so much evidence because of the number of deaths in care homes.

Cider it's one of your rags but:

There are many reports about this.

Obviously the death rate is highest for the oldest people in society with comorbidity. We don't know the route of infection, but we do know care home deaths have been very high around the developed world. So individual policy is unlikely to be a determining factor.

By:
Charlie
When: 13 May 20 18:43
A wrong policy is likely to cause unnecessary deaths (see previous link).

Maybe you will dismiss this as well:

Perfect storm in care homes as residents refused hospital treatment

That's not evidence Charlie. I'm referring to a formal scientific investigation. Something the forensic Starmer might appropriate, rather than a newspaper article.

You're the one making allegation Charlie. Overall deaths in care homes with a positive covid test is public. How they caught the virus we don't know.

it just isn't difficult to work out why care homes are infected . infection is brought in to the care home . The residents don't just produce the

covid 19 virus .

Testing of workers and isolation from the establishments should have been the priority . This should have taken place as soon as it was evident

that this group were high risk . It was not .

There will always be errors and mistakes . No system is perfect but there was no system so these are the results .

You clearly refuse to believe anything that is anti nasty party and also refuse to answer questions. You try to misdirect and deflect. You need to learn to answer direct questions otherwise you will continue to look foolish.

We've gone through that discussion on here at length, eyeball. In March and early April testing resources were verylimited. There are around 2000 care home setting I believe. Do you have any concept of that?

2000 care homes, how many workers is this? Do you test them on the same day? How? What day should this have occurred? What happens when they catch the virus after being tested?

Concept that the government weren't prepared for a pandemic even though they prepared a pandemic preparedness strategy in 2011 or the concept that there are 2000 care homes ?
