R rate to shoot back up within next few weeks ... Nap! Takes three weeks for the lag to play out and then year 1 and reception classes and year 6 will already have been in school, absolute abortion as per.. |

Certainly a gaffe, the state of the Union is in question, you would have to think the other 3 countries are trying to do their best for their citizens and are highly questionable of Westminsters strategy.
Quite possibly the "R" is better in the 3 than in England where their best guess is a huge fluctuation. |

I cannot believe the amount of people in the UK who support this clown. I can understand how Trump has support in the US but not this guy. There is literally nothing he has done impressively throughout this crisis.

You or we can debate what the best actually is for citizens lapsy pa, not everyone will see that the same. I fail to see why any leader wouldn't take the approach that feels is not best, unless there's an election looming. Since the UK has nearly five years remaining in the term just elected, it's not a consideration as it may be for Trump, for example.

Why is it so different Cider than the other 3 countries Cider? i am not replying with another question only in part but it seems to me the other 3 are putting their citizens health 1st whereas westminister/England are putting the economy 1st.

if furloughs in place till end of may,why didn't he just set out a plan for a return to work on june 1st,no employer getting furlough is going to rush back before then anyway,
I honestly don't believe any of the return to work mantra was aimed at those currently on furlough but doris couldn't explain it return to work was related to those who could have been there for last 6 weeks |

What happened in early March was the whole crux of now and the near future,an earlier lockdown and no one would be batting an eye with tonights spiel.
21st of March the tube was rammed, get your bike out now, it must have been bad on that tube , a great spreader of covid, however no one gave a sheet then, not Boris even then clinging to a limpy economy. |

No it was already extended to June because of the redundancy consultation lead time.
The work message was primarily aimed at the businesses who shut down and furloughed people when they weren't required to. |

If you look at Germany, Spain, Italy they all had steady drops in daily new case numbers for 4-5 weeks before releasing restrictions. I know the UK has increased testing but they all have.
The US and the UK are still at the peak of their numbers of infections with no noticeable decline trend at all, never mind for weeks. Can only see this ending badly and no basis to think this is in people's best interests. A political decision rather than a scientific one imo, but time will tell. Perhaps they want more infections to protect against a second wave in Winter or as part of a herd immunity strategy but there is no way this is beneficial for public health in the short term imo. |
