Dumfukkery of the highest order!

One minute they say if you use masks it will take away from NHS they say the evidence points to use of masks not being effective.....so why do the NHS wear them!

Dum Fukks!

People can fly in from New York but you can’t sunbathe even if isolated

handjob delighted nhs hasn't been over run, always handy to have 900 a day dying to keep freeing up beds, contrary to what they say the nhs been over run will be a sign the death rate is slowing and beds not getting freed up, if people were very ill but not dying we,d be 5000 beds short now

He ought to have been more forthcoming given the scrutiny he'd be under given his role ie declared his home in Hertfordshire is his present family home and the London (declared) one prior to or since the lockdown. I also think he'd have asked his Party or a senior cabinet minister about his need to help out his parents when their local community is helping out too.

What he's done is giving the impression he'd do as he pleases because he's a minister. And, travelling to and from work to his family daily in Hertfordshire does not correlate with the advice he's been giving to the nation which is extremely naive given his brief.

I do not think he's connected to the joe public society.

cider you were happy to start a thread about 'lefties' not understanding the very simple government slogan- stay at home  protect the nhs save lives, now you are excusing a government minister. obviously the slogan isnt the same as the actual policy so perhaps it is no surprise the public are a bit confused.

Jenrick is a key worker, that's why he was in London. He drove home to where his family is living, hardly a complex situation to have a grip of.

regardless of jenrick, both gove and the pm werent even sure of the policy and gave either incorrect or misleading information at one time or another.

the slogan is not the policy, are you telling me you havent left your house?

Injera, I wish the questioner could have asked why (post the answer) given Italy is in the thick of it. Maybe that's the drawback of a digital Press Conference.

There are four reasons to be able to leave home, being a key worker is one of them.

so your blanket description of 'lefties' not understanding the slogan is incorrect, thank you.

the pm didnt know his own rules. a few days before mothering sunday he was asked if he was going to see his mum and he answered that he hoped to get to see her. this was against government guidance at the time. a clarification had to to be issued saying he would skype her.

a table of the advice at the time -
https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/government-issues-new-advice-everyone-17935827

over 70s strongly advised against having friends and family to the house which is exactly what the pm was planning on doing.

here are three reports of what he said and there is clearly contradictory advice in there, at the press conference he says different things about over 70s in the space of a few sentences.

micahel gove went on gmtv and was asked whether the children of split parents could move houses, he said 'you should not be moving children from home to home.” but he added there will be children with unique vulnerabilities and needs, where their situation may be different. half an hour later he went on the bbc to 'clarify' (because as a politician he couldnt just admit he got it wrong) that children could move between homes.

clearly the original poster is confused between the government's stated rules and a slogan that doesnt correctly express those rules. you can leave your house for quite a few reasons. he shouldnt need this explained to him but there we are.

all the way through this saga the government's messaging has been extremely poor, it is inconsistent. no wonder some of the public are confused.com and unfortunately there are also many idiots out there, it has absolutely zero to do with political persuasion.

been a key worker doesn't allow you to travel 40 miles to see your parents
doesn't allow you to float between 3/4 adresses

according to government there is absolutely no difference between a key worker and a non key worker who cant work from home

Cider, I understand, but 3 cabinet ministers including their advisor have developed symptoms thus clearly there's a weak link somewhere within the government communication network. And, this will need to be fixed asap otherwise any of the remaining ministers could succumb.

autistic people can leave their homes multiple times a day after a court case victory.

all i am saying is that the rules are not clear cut, confusing messages all the way through this from the government havent helped.

The scottish cmo was travelling with her whole family back and forth. The fact that she had no good reason to do so is patently obvious. I'm sure all MPs outside the M25 went home to their families, Jenrick is a minister so left later to carry out duties and did a skype interview once he was home. Trying to hang him for it is desperate stuff.
By:

So it was ok for the press to ask multiple questions of her but not to ask questions of Jenrick.

Her position was untenable. Joe Pike actually asked about Jenrick at the Scottish briefing earlier today, only he would know why.

personally, i am not hanging him, it just shows the rather simplistic slogan doesnt actually represent what the policy is.

He was hardly going to get clarity from Nicola Sturgeon.

He works in London , his wife works in london . I would guess his children school in London . He has two homes in London , another "home" in Herefordshire and a rented property in his constituency paid for by the tax payer . He obviously sent his family away from London to be safer . Lucky he has that option but it is a "Do what I say , not what I do ." , attitude ......

it also adds to confusion and resentment for the public, a wealthy government minister with multiple homes has a lot easier time than those cooped up in inner cities.

I move that 99.9% of people know the rules. The rules themselves are not unclear. The reason why I started the thread you referenced was to discuss the leftist agenda to create the false narrative that they aren't clear.

i refer you to my earlier post where i listed the pm and gove not understanding their own rules, look at the link to the mirror it includes footage of the pm contradicting himself and his own government's advice in the space of a few sentences.  gove gave incorrect advice on gmtv and then not long after had to say something completely different on the bbc. of course as a politician he couldnt just say what he had said earlier was wrong, instead he said he was clarifying his earlier comments or some such rubbish.

the highest politicians in the land do not understand their own rules. some people are indeed dumb, some are confused and some dont care. it isnt evidence of a leftist agenda.

(btw i am definitely not a leftie i just dont appreciate the way you framed it).
By:

The leftist agenda was the media reporting that people didn't know if sunbathing counts as exercise.

although rent claims, schooling, council bills will show different I,m sure the good folk of Newark are celighted to no their constituency mp regards his local home as his 3rd home
from a 2nd/3rd home he lectured people live on tv quoting the quenn to stay at home obey the rules, if wasn't bad enough then visited his aty risk parents to drop stuff off which local people and volunteers were already dropping off
By:

As I pointed out, they were trying to give people an excuse for not following the rules. I don't believe anyone could conceivably genuinely think that sunbathing is exercise.

Cider, that can only happen in the UK. Sunbathing a form of exercise? It's an alternative to being a couch potato except one is being fried in the sun.

After Ridge asked Matt Hancock about some people being confused still, and was he saying people couldn't sunbathe under the one exercise per day for an hour maximum exemption, SKy News were running the breaking news ticker 'Matt Hancock states sunbathing is banned in the UK'

cider thanks for that, i missed that bit. maybe looking for a story but not a leftist agenda, imo. you think differently.

what about the pm and gove not understanding their own advice? if the government dont understand their own advice or if the rich (jenrick) have more acceptable reasons to move around then dont be surprised if the public are confused or think they can ignore the official advice.

rolling news need headlines/stories Sad  some people are morons Sad
