What happened to the local community delivery service? His parents were on their list and already being helped. He cannot gallivant from one property to the next in this climate - minister or no minister. I hope this's signed his political death-nail.

A former MP described him as "arrogantly selfish".

Hey moisok, as you are a little red book holding, Labour Party member of forty five years standing, do you support Jenrick having three houses, letting one out and travelling back and forwards with his family between them under the current guidelines?

I would like as many houses as possible  - it is a good idea to let out your property for holidays but not sure about long term lets.
Another friend of mine has three but uses two  several months of the year.

Property can be a very good investment over time

as well as soccerball betting.

Fascist new progressives like your lot fantasypunter would stop us from doing anything at any time any where in normal times.
You simply hate opposition.  Your way is the only way - we know your type

I am not defending anyone.

I am asking the general question... should ministers and others doing essential work be allowed see their kids during lockdown if their work is in a different location to where their family is living?

I notice none of the haters are willing to answer that one.

Clearly it makes perfect sense for Jenrick, his wife, and their three young daughters to live in the same property during the lockdown.
But what is their usual home ?

It has been reported that his wife works in London during the week, we don't know if his kids go to school in London.

If the kids do go to school in London, then he has taken them away from a hotspot and moved to a second home, something the good folks of Cornwall were requesting others not to do.

If his kids do not school in London, when does Jenrick and his wife ever see them ?

Disclose the full facts.

he,ll go for lying now anyway probably because he,s calling the house their at their main home despite everyone who no,s him, paperwork etc think his Newark house is his main house away from London, the journo,s now checking kids school arrangements, council tax arrangements, commons expenses claims etc etc,
expect more u turns, clarifications and probably resignation eventually ,best go before he embarrasses best friend doris ,during his recovery

Equally interesting to see if they continue with the recently introduced courtesy of allowing journalists a follow up question Grin

3 cabinet ministers plus their advisor have had the symptoms of Covid-19; Hancock'd recovered, Bojo's reportedly getting better and Gove in isolation. No news about the advisor DC, which means there's a weak link in the chain of government regards Covid-19 virus.

I'd expect ministers and others doing "essential" work be allowed to see their kids during lockdown. Nevertheless, it has to been kept to a minimal for fear of contracting the virus. If one is a member of the inner cabinet responsible for making the day-to-day decision about Covid-19 then probably not esp given 3 cabinet members have been struck down with the symptoms; the more exposure to unrelated people the more chance of getting the virus.

And, if the MP/cabinet minister is advising the public about the ways to minimise the chance of contracting Covid-19 like Mr Jenrick is then the answer will be no, "he must not gallivant from his work place to the family home everyday" for his own sake, his family's sake, the cabinet and people he'd be meeting in the coming days. If so, he ought to be working from home as much as possible.

I'm sure a better way could have been found.

That makes sense impossible.

Same for doctors and nurses. Should they really see their family between shifts?

The government’s daily coronavirus press briefing is due to begin shortly and will be fronted by the health secretary Matt Hancock.
He will be joined by the deputy chief medical officer for England, Jonathan Van-Tam and the chief nursing officer for England, Ruth May.

Some doctors esp those treating Covid-19 patients have been living apart from their families so that they do not infect them; some hospital nurses on the frontline and carers in care homes have done the same too as far as I know. This is a sensible course of action.

And, I hope these NHS staff and carers who are risking their lives daily will as a token of appreciation for their sterling work in this health crisis a meaningful financial reward and a certificate to recognise the role they each play after this crisis.

By:

yeah as nearly 1000 people had their deaths recorded being covid 19 positive, the priority question is why a minister traveled home Plain

if enough people keep flouting the rules which is likely when supposedly able (sic) ministers are allowed to crcumvent them it is a relevant question
the number of deaths will go down when EVERYBODY abides by the rules
By:

When: 10 Apr 20 17:38
If any minister flouted the rules I would quite agree. Travelling home to his wife and three kids is not quite a house party.

LBC ask about inbound flights. Minister and experts say no point in stopping the flights. Why?

Because the virus is already here...Crazy

So we can’t drive to a park but an Italian can fly here unchecked. Utter garbage. Lies lies and more lies.
