No Moisok,i don't know what context that quote has come from but the poster himself seems level headed enough unlike the many far right nutjobs on this forum. it is from giggilo and go look at his post he started - only three on there on politics forum what a strange defence of an unbalanced nasty attack from one of your colleagues lapsy. he said it and meant it I love how you progressives come out to defend such a disgusting statement level headed - that statement isn't level headed it is just plain nasty towards people who don't agree with him and tells us all about what you progressives think when challenged plain nasty |

You have it all there, mo. Wishing death on 'the right people' is perfectly level headed to some types.

As i said i don't know the context in how your quote was used,a reply to something else said, history i don't know, not my business.
As for the thread itself,i so hope i am wrong and will apologise unreservedly if so,i don't know whether i am or not, i am pleased to see some measures starting now, there was nothing up to now,too late?unavoidable anyway? who knows. It is a sad time for the world, people will lose loved ones, the economy looks like being bankrupt, it is not meant to be a point scoring thread against other forum users, i regret the title but at the time the herd immunity theory was put out and that didn't sit well. |

I re post this with apologies to inje
Injera 16 Mar 20 16:38 To back up the Doctor’s point about regular flu: 2018: THIS year's flu season is shaping up to be one of the most serious we have seen with cases of the Aussie and Japanese flu sweeping across the country. And with the spike in people becoming ill with the flu also comes a rise in the number of flu-related deaths, with pneumonia being one of the most deadly conditions caused by the bug. Last week around 4,000 people were admitted to hospital with flu - up 51 per cent on the previous seven days, and almost four times higher than the same week last year. People over the age of 65, young children, pregnant women and people with underlying health conditions like asthma and heart disease are the most at-risk in the community. Each year about 30,000 people in the UK die from pneumonia, according to the British Lung Foundation. But it can affect anyone at any age - last week the family of Bethany Walker, from Applecross in the Scottish Highlands, revealed the 18-year-old lost her life to flu after developing pneumonia. On top of that, 44,000 people die from sepsis each year - a deadly condition that can be triggered by pneumonia. https://www.thesun.co.uk/fabulous/5351640/pneumonia-deadly-infection-flu-trigger/ |

The question of untested actual cases was avoided,it could have been a guessitimation but was still side stepped, the new proposals of working from home if you can and stay out of the pub seems weak to me.

By:
Maybe it is better if they don't say that 1stTP,they didn't say they abandoned it either.

People won’t stay at home if they can’t afford to do it. No one should have to choose between their health and keeping a roof over their head.
Full sick pay for those in self isolation. Rent and mortgage freezes. Yep. |

Virgin Atlantic have 8,500 employees and Branson has asked them to take 8 weeks unpaid leave.
It would cost £4.2 million to pay all of these employees £500 a week to cover this leave. In total that’s a cost of £34 million for 8 weeks. Richard Branson is worth £4 billion. TOTAL SCUMBAG OF COURSE A MASSIVE REMAINER |

I think Italy and South Korea were late to acknowledge the presence of Covid-19 hence the magnitude of deaths compare to other countries. However, I hope the measures presently (and future) advised and deployed in London and the rest of the UK will see us in better stead than experienced by these two countries.
Social distancing and social responsibility go hand-in-hand as far as Covid-19 is concerned. |
