He should be removed from office and this whole idea of government should be removed, the royals are finished as well if people had any sense
They think its their rising from the ashes but it doesn't need to be, it can be society finally ridding itself of this filthy system |

Cometh the Hour, Cometh the Man
I hope Boris makes a better job of dealing with the coronavirus than he did when vowing to stop the extension of Heathrow. By promising to lie in front of the Bulldozers, when the bill came up in Parliament he was out the country. I hope he does not do a runner in the face of the coronavirus |
|
By:
Indeed Uble,he is busy still considering mass gatherings....half the rest of the worlds countries in a state of emergency.
|
|
By:
I guess the problem we have is that all those millions of elderly and sick folk regrettably cost the country a lot of money to keep them alive ...and as you and I know the country runs on economics and not sentiment

|
By:
and yes ,there will be people out there who see the long term economic benefits of the virus

Couple of years back, funeral parlours were told by the Government to be ready as the death rate would go up many times the average,it did,now of course the question is,how the feck did they know?

Do you have any evidence to support your claim

I was told this from a chap I know who runs said funeral parlour and to confirm this, when my mum died feb "18 I had to chase out the pensions people because they were so slow, when I spoke to them they told me they were months behind due to "a much higher amount of people dying than normal".

Let's assume you're an expert in epidemiology, behavioural science and in possession of all the facts for a short time, lapsy pa. What is the action you are proposing should have been taken already, that would have made a significant difference, lapsy pa?
|
|
By:
No expert in anything, your 2 chief medical officers have told you the facts, that 60% of the population needs to be infected to reach what they are trying to achieve ie herd immunity.
My action fwiw would have been a complete lockdown now as in other countries, essential travel and services only. No crowds, work from home for who could, schools off would have been what i would have implemented earlier. |
|
By:
OK this suggestion doesn't affect the elderly and vulnerable, but let's go with that anyway, so how long are you locking down for, and how are you proposing to prevent the spread when everyone is released from the lockdown all the same time?
|
|
By:
they could turn bingo halls into mini hospitals
|
|
By:
Don't expect rational argument on this forum :)
On the one hand you've Boris who apparently is listening to advisors with the quite plausible theory that we can't contain (which we obviously CAN'T) so let's manage in the least destructive way. The other approach would be to try and contain it (repeat WE CAN'T) and lock the country down into a grinding halt for years until we fall back to approach 1 anyway. And if you took approach 2, the nutjobs woulb scream it's part a conspiracy to control us and take away out freedom. Welcome to chit chat Cider! |

I would be studying China if there is truth in it and Singapore and Japan,i would try and slow it to the summer and hot weather.
The present course of UK seems economy based rather than the moral obligation of its citizens welfare. |

meanwhile the multiple stabbing and deaths continue in london - they going to do anything about THAT virus?
|
|
By:
He should be hung .
|
|
By:
Cider, no one has the answers.
We're about to see HM Government perform a significant U-turn, responding to actions taken by others just days after ruling such actions out. Events are overtaking any plans that may have been in place and will continue to do so. |
|
By:
any of you heroes going over to china to sort them out seeing as they started it? and take greta with you to deal with their coal fired destruction of our planet ho ho

About the only justification for a hard long lockdown a-la-italy would surely be if a vaccine was in the pipeline?
Would "gods special folk" accept a vaccination, or would they believe it's just part of a conspiracy as well? ![]() ![]() |

take boris and spit roast him over the coal fires - don't mention the chinese - it is raycyst

The non essential mass gathering ban is being expedited due to political reasons not logical ones. The sad reality is the virtue signallers are doing what they do, and forcing the government’s hand.
Unless there’s some kind of miracle vaccine / cure, the unfortunate reality is that we will nearly all get it in some form. For obvious reasons, their overriding concern is to try and ensure the peak number affected at any one time is as low as possible. |
