Revealed: Boris Johnson's secret post-Brexit plan to turn UK into 'Singapore-on-Thames'

BORIS JOHNSON has a post-Brexit plan which will boost the economy and turn the country into a self-styled "Singapore-on-Thames", unearthed reports claim.

The Prime Minister does have a post-Brexit plan, which sees the whole of Britain turning into "Singapore-on-Thames".

The idea of ‘Singapore-on-Thames’ was first introduced a couple of years ago by Philip Hammond, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer, as a means of encouraging the EU to strike a friendly Brexit deal with the UK.

It has now become shorthand for the UK becoming a low-tax, lightly regulated economy.

After Britain leaves the EU, Mr Johnson is expected to create duty-free ports, especially in northern England.

Goods entering free ports are exempt from import taxes and tariffs and often benefit from simplified regulations, helping bring economic success to locations such as Singapore and Hong Kong.

The UK is currently prevented from establishing such zones as an EU member, but by integrating free ports with local enterprise zones, they would become “super charged”, providing a major boost to regional economies.

Experts estimate the trade zones could create more than 150,000 jobs and generate billions.

This is a radical Queen’s Speech – it will take us out of the EU, overhaul our immigration system, and will enshrine in law record investment for the NHS . And it will take our country forward with an ambitious one nation programme to unite and spread opportunity to every corner of our United Kingdom.

Just imagine where this country could be in 10 years’ time. A country with 40 new state of the art hospitals. More fantastic nurses and fantastic doctors. More police officers making our streets safer. Children given a chance to reach their full potential. Cleaner air. Biodiversity protected. Scientists making incredible breakthroughs in technology. Better transport. Better infrastructure bringing people together. Greater connectivity. Greater opportunity. A Britain where we are uniting and levelling up.

That is the future we are going to deliver. That is the future I am going to be working round the clock to achieve. I am humbled by the trust millions of voters placed in this Government last week. The work to repay that trust starts here.

The speech just shows how today's problems aren't really problems but just the basis of the solutions that will be offered down the line.

Overhaul immigration system? Haven't they themselves ignored it the last decade?
More police officers? Was it not Boris who cut down police numbers? and then May?
taking Britain out of the EU? The same party that has failed to deliver this will deliver it now.
NHS - I don't have a clue about this one but I would assume 9 years of tory govt must have a contribution in its current state?

How stupid exactly is the public?

The money going into the NHS is only the money that should have been going in for the past 9 years in the first place, meaning fack all gained anyway

More police? again the same police that have been cut to pieces over 9 years, so you are getting the same numbers back

Immigration? basically that will stay the same so gaining nothing there

Welfare state cut up to pay for the above... marvellous stuff really. And people clap their hooves together as always

Boris issues savage slap down to SNP's plot to break up UK - 'Sturgeon HERSELF said it!'


BORIS Johnson savaged the SNP after they interrupted him during his speech on how he set out to help commuters by telling them that “even Sturgeon said it herself” when they slapped down his declaration the Scottish independence referendum was a once in a lifetime vote.
