Thanks for understanding that a five year old has a greater understanding of how to measure temperature than you do.

Your back garden in 1976 makes up a very small proportion of planet Earth. Your story is hardly about "global " temperature changes.

BTW Record UK temperature was recorded this year not in 1976.

Are you aware that the atmosphere has effect on how much heat is kept on the planet (rather than radiating into space)

A similar pattern to Scared to Death, an interesting book by Christopher Booker noting how the scare is mentioned,the media promote it,a few experts come on TV to endorse it,then the politicians get onto the train to curry favour with the public then regulation is produced to be seen to "do something" then it fades away and gets forgotten about later but the taxes stay.

You know when you are winning (if it should be called 'winning' the argument)  It is the list of 'put downs' and arrogance - the derogatory language they use, impuning a higher level of intelligence as THEIR science is superior and proven(which it is not)
