These games are do or die , France are very unpredictable they could give Wales a tough game , same as the Aussies will not lie down against England

Narrow margins, we thought. Suffocatingly tight they said.
In the end, it was England by an autobahn.

24-point victory was their joint biggest Test win against Australia, in fact their three biggest victories against the Wallabies have come under Eddie Jones.

Not competitive. More like a Walla-bye.

Couldn't have been more wrong about Australia CryCry Well played England, they have a massive chance

Ireland as always flatter to deceive on the big stage, they haven't bottled it here though, they've just been clouted

Wales made heavy weather of it, but they are into another Rugby World Cup semi-final!

Wales coach Warren Gatland on BBC Radio 5 Live: I think the better team lost today. The thing about our boys is they don't give up, they keep trying until the end. We kept working away. France came out of the blocks well. At half-time we just said we've got to score next, we did that and obviously the red card was the turning point. It was pretty special.

Enough is enough for Handre Pollard. There's no route to the Japanese line so the fly-half lashes into touch to bring this quarter-final to a close.

The Brave Blossoms formed a circle on the field, tears running down many cheeks, as the Springboks thanked the fans. Hearts were broken in Tokyo, but Japanese fans found their voice to give their team one last roar before they left the pitch.

Were good value and surprise team of the tournament

South Africa did what needed to be done. Streetwise performance, not entertaining but I admire their style just as much as I admire the swashbuckling All Blacks

England @ 3.5 is a huge price to beat N.Z. and I've taken that.

The makeup of the semi finals is good for mythical matches - who will score the most points NZ or SA, ditto England or Wales. I wonder there are markets anywhere?

I'll have a fiver with you England to beat N.Z. @ 100/1 T_K_D_M.

If we win give a monkey to Macmillan Cancer research for me. If England lose I will donate a fiver to the charity of your choice.

Can't see us beating them slippy but 100/1 would be worth a fiver Laugh we ain't a 100s poke that's for sure

New Zealand just seem to steamroller the World Cups nowadays, since getting the monkey of their back in 2011 they have less pressure on them

With just over 24 hours to go before England take on New Zealand in the first semi-final, England coach Eddie Jones refused to confirm or deny various media reports that England would perform a display of morris dancing in response the All Black's haka.

HT: England 10-0 New Zealand

Paul Grayson : Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live
That was probably the best 40 mins for England under Eddie Jones. Their ability to create overlaps and test New Zealand while delivering pinpoint accurate passing was a joy to behold. New Zealand were hanging on, they could have been two or three scores down. The All Blacks were as ragged as I've seen them for a long time.

Eddie Jones has earned every penny. His team deserve every accolade heading their way.

Difficult to disagree with any of that.

New Zealand coach Steve Hansen: "Congratulations to England, they played a tremendous game of footy and deserved to win. You cannot give them half a step, but they took it.

"I am really proud of our team, they have done a tremendous job, but we were not good enough. We take it on the chin, the boys tried their guts out and I am proud of them."

Sorry just had to go outside and dunk my head in the pig s***

When did England suddenly become good in World Cups?

We use to lay or back against England knowing we were dog vomit, and knowing we were quids in

Well done to England though, should really be winning it from here, but I'll be backing whoever they play in the final, sods law to beat the Aussies and then the worlds best NZ, only to set it up for the Welsh isn't it
