One of the greatest speeches of all time by Greta. I applaud her.

Just underlining what many of us are already well aware of .. If Charlie chooses tails in a coin toss bet your life that the flip will defo be heads .. He has more form in the book for being completely wrong than Frankel had for winning

One day he will decide its time to slowly withdraw his head from his 8rsehole to at least give himself a chance of thinking things through properly b4 offering public comment although dont hold your breath on that one  CryCryCry

Top of the mornin' to ya, EK.  It's glorious sunny day up here in Perth.  Thank you for the Cambs heads up, as I wasn't aware.  I once delivered to Henry Cecil's mansion when I worked in Cambridge as a courier.  RIP to the big man.

Meanwhile, I shall peruse https://www.timeform.com/horse-racing/features/rowley/rowleyfile-preview-cambridgeshire-2692019 after I give myself my quarterly haircut.  Any tips?  Wink For the horses, that is Laugh

I am all for green energy for two reasons one it can be produced locally there allowing independence and two it can be a wealth generator.
Fossil fuel emissions will not help the situation we are in today however because the Earth tilts on its axis by 4/6 percent, 4 percent is what makes for iceage conditions and the nearer to 6 percent will melt all the ice caps because they are now thousands of miles closer to the Sun. So yes cut down on greenhouse gas emissions but it in itself will not reduce global warming

Good man, Trilby and great to see you in good form. Some great racing today and my pin has found it's way to MORDIN in the Cambridgeshire. I like the jockey (good claimer) and Simon Crisford has been in great form so that's worth 50p e/w at 18/1 on the boards (21/1 on the exchanges).

Do you think Bercow was being overly polite to the Tories this week on the day the PM faced the Commons? Do you think he's worried about not getting his peerage as he approaches his final month?

Did you see Geoffrey Cox at the party conference last year? His finish at 11:16 was sublime, especially when he starts shaking his head:

I'm all for renewable energy too. When it actually works I'll be even more for it. I'm looking forward to the day Chinese renewable energy companies can provide cheap electricity to Australians without the Australian Government giving millions of taxpayer dollars to subsidise them. Right now we get expensive electricity, often unreliable, while foreign companies and other crooks are raking in millions. This in a country that has an almost endless supply of coal. You couldn't make it up!!

Why does everything have to be so sleazy these days?

Has a near endless supply of sun .....coal has had its day ,switch to panel manufacture ,copy the copiers ,steal their ideas ,beat them at their own game ,plenty work for installers and servicing solar . Create new ways of storing energy ,coal has a reduced benefit going forward .

Have to love it when (supposedly) grown up men laugh at young people with autism being somewhat awkward at a short clip of a press conference in a foreign language. In addition to the other completely unobjective abuse she's been earning.

First of all, let us not use terms like "libtards" when we communicate with each other, shall we? A certain degree of civility should be kept up in conversations.

Secondly, I have to admit I don't understand your second sentence completey, but if I'm understanding it correctly you are essentially saying it is ok to make fun of her because she is being taken advantage of. Would that be correct? I tend to not agree with the idea that it is ok to unobjectively abuse people that are being taken advantage of. Any (alledged) use of her by others does not justify abuse directed directly towards her, even less so if it is something like making fun of someone's press skills.

I am civil, you are a libtard. You can pretend to be something else to make yourself worthwhile.

but if I'm understanding it correctly you are essentially saying it is ok to make fun of her because she is being taken advantage of.

I cannot believe you just posted that.

Secondly, how on earth did you come up with that conclusion without a predetermined answer?
By:
edy
When: 28 Sep 19 23:10
I shall kindly ask you to not refer to me, or anyone else, as a libtard. It is a rather derogatory term that does not help a civil debate.

If I misunderstood your second sentence, I shall apologise and ask you to rephrase it. I think you will acknowledge that, in the hurry you might've been in when you typed it in, you garbled up the sentence a bit.

As regards her speech it was either crafted by her parents/other adults or shes allowed the attention to go to her head.
Whatever she has served to bring attention to a serious matter but enough is enough. She doesn't have the intimate knowledge of the problem that scientist have and is in no position to lecture anyone on the issue.

I shall also kindly ask you to refrain from eroding civility in debate. The continued use of derogatory terms to describe fellow forumites despite already having voiced repeated, and kind, requests to not do so is not a very nice thing to do.

I hope that one day you will realize the wrongs in doings. I shall pray for your soul.
