Those controlling her would have done better not to choose a kid who looks like something from a 70s horror film.

I think she's got Aspergers hasn't she? Parents are complete nutjobs and delinquent.

People have been predicting the end of the world for centuries. How anybody listens to this Thunberg imbecile beggars belief. Greenies must be keen to take out a 25 year mortgage on an inner city terrace these days knowing they'll only have to make payments for 12 years because by then we'll all be dead.

Interesting article pointing out all the end of the world predictions in 1970.

I suspect the 'debate' has been subcontracted to the people who make the Haribo ads on TV - where adults talk like three year olds?

Some of the praise I've seen for Thunberg, not just her activities but her supposed talents and character, would have embarrassed a bog-standard X-Factor contestant.

Have people suspended their critical faculties? It would seem so.

She is nothing more than a useful idiot for the likes of the greens.

Individuals who shout hypocrisy on this issue really ought to stop and think for a moment before arriving at their lazy objection.

By the way, it was a very nice boat she sailed on, which will have a toilet onboard, more correctly referred to as "the heads".
Crossing the Atlantic remains on my sailing to do list, did do a passage from the Azores to Gibraltar a few years back, very enjoyable.

I think we should build much more recycle energy units, Wind farms and solar panels.

Unfortunately since they may damage peoples house values that comes first?

We can go Nuclear, no carbon waste, but unfortunately highly toxic radio active waste.

Other than that we must just make more energy efficient goods.

Go back to using Airships instead of planes, an idea?

Was interesting to hear Greta mention that the ground was rocking as she was being interviewed on the pontoon where her boat had moored.

It's a really strange experience when you have spent a prolonged period on a boat that is constantly rocking, your first few days back onshore include reaching out to prevent yourself falling over in the shower, your brain remaining in a confused state from the voyage Grin

If she had any real substance about her, and really had her finger on the pulse of today’s kids there's plenty she could do.

It's nonsense that kids don't have power to do anything about climate change. Yhey could watch less tv, play consoles less, walk to school, tell their parents they don't want to go to Disneyland, shun straws, ditch tablets and smartphones, turn off social media etc etc. She could campaign for any of those things and could be commended for doing something to make a difference.

Instrumentalising this unfortunate child in the propaganda campaign of the deranged alarmists is a case of child abuse.

If they'd asked, I would have volunteered to sail the boat there and back.
It is a far faster boat than the Bavaria's that I have typically sailed on.

I have only seen the clip of her being interviewed after she landed in America , haven’t seen or heard anything else
There was something touching and vulnerable about her and at least she is a young person trying to do something good

An excellent intervention by a sitting MP.

Perfectly justified questions being asked here. Can't wait for the absolutely transparent, detailed travel plan from the pop group/Pretendy Climate Change Activists concerned.

If there is a plane going back to Europe with a spare seat and it's given to Greta then she is not causing any extra pollution.

Thunberg says she first heard about climate change in 2011, when she was 8 years old, and could not understand why so little was being done about it.[11]

Three years later she became depressed and lethargic, stopped talking and eating, and was eventually diagnosed with Asperger syndrome,[12] obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD),[12] and selective mutism.[12][13]

While acknowledging that her diagnosis "has limited me before", she does not view her autism as an illness and has instead called it her "superpower".[13]
