Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said MPs must come together to stop the plan next week, or "today will go down in history as a dark one indeed for UK democracy".

The whole brexit fiasco surely must go down in history as a very dark chapter in uk democracy. Since when did government reject the will of the electorate?

MP's in danger of being forced into making a decision after a few years. The Brexit gravy train is almost over and they will have to concentrate on the key issues. Well done Boris on saving the country.

Remainers have been screaming for The Queen to get involved from day one... now Boris has (allegedly) gone to see her, the toys are coming out of the pram.

Sturgeon quick off the mark on this but not so quick on the news she ignored last week.

Fast Response
Sturgeon says shutting parliament 'is not democracy, it's dictatorship'

Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says PM Boris Johnson's move to shut parliament was undemocratic.

No Response
Scotland's deficit seven times higher than UK as a whole last year

Unlike previous years, Nicola Sturgeon, the first minister and SNP leader, chose not to meet the media to discuss the Gers figures. Instead she campaigned for the third time in Shetland in the byelection to replace the Lib Dem MSP Tavish Scott, who stood down in June.

Queen on the diversion tactics too. She's overdue a speech and needs Brexit in there so she doesn't have to make it all about Andrew.

As has been said before, it is highly amusing to hear Corbyn et al talking about democracy when they've been doing all they can to avert a democratic decision.

If Boris has now prorogued Parliament until 14th Oct then calls a general Election just before that date given it takes 6 weeks at least before the public can go to the polls that would mean we have left the EU on the 31st Oct by the default legal position.

No vested interest in the shenanagains but isn't it quite sad, BJ uses the excuses of domestic issues when that looks like nothing near the truth,at least be honest.
If that is the case EMR,won't that be the right moral outcome,a no deal and the consequenses?

Absolutely sickening hypocrisy. The very people who have been hell-bent on reversing and blocking the referendum majority and the will of the 17.4 million people are the ones who start shouting, screaming and kicking their legs because they can't get their own way. Surely THEY are the anti-democratic minority who are trying to subvert the will of the majority.

The BBC (Brussels Broadcasting Corporation) has also gone into anti-Brexit overdrive by broadcasting quote after quote from staunch remainers.

I stand by what I said in that the minority are trying to overturn a democratic majority vote. By the way, just as a reminder here's a short clip of what those people were saying about the referendum (for those with a short attention span it's only about two minutes long) and compare it with what they are saying today.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. Blah.blah,blah. Nice to see you've joined the ranks of the truth twisters and the liars. The majority choice was made in 2016 by 17.4 million people and if you cannot respect a majority vote then you are no better that those screaming, shouting ang kicking their legs because they can't get their own way. Move over bud and let the people who want to deliver on the referendum get on with the job of doing so.
