PART 3 .
When I finally arrived at Berci at 6 . 15 am Saturday morning . I estimated that I'd not slept for 46 hours . instead of immediately looking for somewhere to pitch up my tent and sleep ,I foolishly took the Metro to Chatelet . I then began gallivanting al over Paris . I first visited Notre Dame Cathedral [PIC] and took a few boring photos from a distance , I thought I'd take a more interesting pic if I got closer , so I climbed over the guard rail and walked towards The Cathedral . As I was about to take a a closer pic , I heard a voice closely behind me loudly say " MISSUER" , I turned around to find a scary gun clad french paratrooper looking at me , I uttered a quick " Pardon" and then went and climbed back over the rail . The army boy came from nowhere , when I climbed over the rail there was only myself and a few tourists there . It was now about 7 . 30 am . |

Part 5 .
Fuelled by my excitement of being in Paris , I continued on my very tired but merry way . I stopped for a coffee at a roadside cafe and then met the lovely and beautiful Anna . All the while I'm in Paris , what made my tiredness so much greater was my having to carry about with me at all times , a very heavy backpack . Which contained my tent and various other stuff . I had 2 books with me , Bunyan's Pilgrims Progress and Oscar Wilde's short stories . I intended to read some of the Wilde book when I visited his grave in Pere Lachaise cemetery the following day . Also buried in that cemetery is Jim Morrison . A friend had asked me to place a message on his grave and then take a pic . The message I had planned to write was " Keep riding the storm , Jim ". |

Eiffel Tower ![]() |
By:
No, but I recall that you were mine, in those old Parisienne days.
By:
It seems odd to go to all that trouble to visit a graveyard even if you did accidentally encounter the beautiful Anna.
Surely you took a photo of her? |

When will we get the next episode of this?

PART 6 .
I had arrived in Paris at 6.15 am , and despite my going without any sleep for almost two days , I very often took opportunities to rest . My backpack felt like it weighed a ton . When I did rest at a cafe or on a bench somewhere , I often removed my heavy hiking boots and massaged my now pained and very smelly feet . Despite only being in Paris for 12 hours or so , It dawned on me that I was in serious trouble , the combination of very hot weather ,lack of sleep , and my carrying a heavy backpack around with me, left me feeling that I was about to collapse . I went into a shop and bought 3 litres of water ,I then went outside and sat on a nearby bench . I sat there for almost two hours barefooted with a wet flannel on top of my head. I added to the water many a pinch of pink salt . I had some raw eggs , tomatoes and A mango . I realised that more than anything else I needed sleep . A few hours earlier I had visited a park that I had then earmarked as a place for me to later pitch my tent . I now made my way there , when I got there 30 mins or so later ,it was around 9 pm and the park was full of people , more so than earlier in the day . I rested on a bench and took in more water, salt , eggs, cheese and a handful of raspberries that a shopkeeper had robbed me blind by charging me 4 euros for . I need a coffee and a sH1t . Be back in about 30 mins . |

Blackpool or Morecambe next year, you'll blend in nicely with the flannel on your head.

By:
Fancy , NOT'fail n cycle. What the cRap .
By:
Have a good trip, but I'm far from sure that the female denizens of Blackpool would compare favourably with the sophisticated Parisienne ladees.
By:
And I can only describe them as "denizens".
By:
Culvin if you get to Morecambe don't take a job as a cockle picker and don't race the tide you can't win.
By:
He's going Blackpool, do keep up.
