Hi culvin you might be right and I’m too harsh about London , when people are nice to you then naturally that’s how you will feel , there’s more to it of course , quite a lot , but that’s a good start
Interesting to hear about your time in Paris :) |

JohnnyMust , I'm starting to think that you post your nonsense just to pathetically try to annoy me .
I didn't say Paris was not one of the finest cities in the world , I completely agree with you in regard to it's incredible history , buildings , monuments , statues , food , etc .I called it a pigsty because that's what I saw . Beautiful fountains full of garbage , huge black rats running amok in parks . I'm a very litter conscious person , I often pick up litter that's not my own and place it in a bin , especially if it's in a beautiful place like a park . I was disgusted by all the litter and filth . The Parisian demeanour that you speak of is hardly to be applauded is it ? In my mind beautiful buildings and statues do not make a great city , what makes a city great and a pleasure to inhabit or to visit is that cities beauty combined with the friendliness of it's people , it's help and consideration for others , especially if they happen to be visitors . Because of my experience that I had there , I may well never visit Paris again , that doesn't help the Parisian economy does it . I'd like to ask you a question , JohnnyM . If a complete stranger was to greet you with the words 'Good morning' as you passed each other on a London street , would you would not positively reply , if not , what kind of a person are you , too busy thinking about money to have simple good manners . Regarding money , you may well be a rich man , but I think you're poor , poor man , John . |

I think Paris is in trouble at the moment with all these Yellow Vest protesters
so they may be letting the street cleaning slip a tad. |
|
By:
Have they solve the dog poo on the pavements problem they had ?

*solved

To be fair I didn't see any dog sH1t , but there would be plenty of rat sH1t about

. ![]() Is this where you slept? Campsite? |

That pic is indeed intriguing , Leopard ' and I'll let you know all about it when I return from a shopping trip to Lidl
and then a visit to my Church to help out with the cleaning . I clean the toilets and windows there every Thursday evening . I also occasionally help out with the gardening . A lady who I met 6 months ago and whom I very much hope and wish to make my wife lives a mere stone's throw away from the Church . . |

I'd like to ask you a question , JohnnyM . If a complete stranger was to greet you with the words 'Good morning' as you passed each other on a London street , would you would not positively reply , if not , what kind of a person are you , too busy thinking about money to have simple good manners . OK, here's my answer. Of course they wouldn't get a positive reply. Moreover, they wouldn't get a reply of any kind. It's just the way it is by and large. And as for your "I may well never visit Paris again , that doesn't help the Parisian economy does it", well considering you took the poor person's route, sorry coach, I hardly think that's going to force Macron into demanding an immediate summit with his exchequer. |

Why does a Paris merry go round have Union Jacks on it? And why does it say 'horses' instead of 'chevals'?

Good question, Clouseau.

Paris is a lovely city with lots to offer, yes of course it is pricey but what major European capital isn't? Longchamp is a truly wonderful racecourse and 'Arc day' is an absolute must do for any avid horse racing man. That aside, I've been there quite a few times over the last 30 odd years and it's not a city I really particularly want to go to again, been there and done it all really.

Alot of French men just put that French sexy accent to impress the women they desire .They just talk normal French to their grandmothers
|
|
By:
They only started teaching French at schools because we joined the common market .you just ask any pentioner in Tesco's to talk French to you .I bet you won't meet a dozen in five years .

Leopard , You should have been a detective because you're absolutely correct in your keen eyed observation.
The beautiful and friendly African girl who served me the coffee in Starbucks , did indeed only write my name on the cup . I added the 'Love , Oh la la' , as a fun little message to her . This was on my third day in Paris and I was counting my pennies at this point but I left a euro tip for her underneath the coffee cup . By the way , I wasn't going to post that pic . How do I delete it ? |

I've not been in very long and I feel knackered but I'm just about to cook myself a meal and then I'll take a well needed bath .
But I'll be back here in a good hour or so and give for anyone who's interested a little journal of my time in Paris . |

What a countdown, can’t wait.

Years from when I was last in Paris but I found it an incredible city with loads to visit/see.
I also found it less than clean. People were okay though. |

OK , here goes . This might be a bit long and this first part is not about going to Paris .
PART 1 . I've never been abroad in my life before . Up until about 3 years ago I've always been a terribly shy person . My social anxiety was so extreme that I was even afraid of my own family .I would sometimes stay in the house for weeks on end , I would only go out to sign on at The Job Centre , and to help me cope with that experience I used to get myself half p1SSed . The last time I got myself half drunk to go there was about 2 years ago , it was 9 am in the morning and I needed to meet my job advisor . I thought things were going quite well as I lied to her about looking for this job and that job , etc , but she then looked me straight in the eye and quietly said this to me , "Can I ask you a question , have you been drinking" , I admitted to her that I had been . I then apologised .I felt so ashamed that I cried . Anyway , moving this story on , over the coming months she helped me devise a plan to help me get back into work by firstly confronting my fears and f00ked up mind . |
