considering it was seen as a 1st rate chance to win a seat; & they were long odds on to do so, do you not think there was another reason he didn't stand?

Surely a sitting member of the European parliament cannot take a seat in the commons as well Confused

"Surely a sitting member of the European parliament cannot take a seat in the commons as well"
Salmond was an MP and an MSP for a while, but you're right "a European Council decision of 2002 states that "the office of MEP is incompatible with that of member of a national parliament". An MEP who is elected as an MP, or appointed a Peer, therefore has to stand down from the European Parliament."

Nigel probably chose not to stand because he would have to do some MP work instead of his grift as an MEP where he gets to turn up once a month, shout a bit for a video to go onto Twitter and then rabble rouse back at home for the rest of the time

Well if we are supposed to have "serious" politicians in Westminster, let's have more trolls, as you put it!

Jeremy Corbyn faced claims that an ex-Labour member jailed for a postal vote scam had provided vital help in fighting off Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party by just 683 votes.

Ex-local Labour branch secretary Tariq Mahmood received a 15-month prison sentence in 2008 for his part in a scheme to fabricate votes for a Peterborough council election.

local Tories claimed Mahmood, pictured sporting a red rosette at the by-election count, was ‘front and centre’ of Labour’s bid to mobilise the Muslim vote.

He was also photographed with Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn last month, as well as being pictured with eventual by-election winner Lisa Forbes.

Last year, Mahmood, who runs a letting agency, was accused of racism for calling Home Secretary Sajid Javid a ‘coconut’ on Facebook, a racial slur aimed at those deemed to have betrayed their heritage.

And how would one describe 500+ 'British' Members of Parliament who have betrayed their cultural heritage and that of the majority their constituents ?
Would the word 'traitor' be apt ?

Brexit has had 2 elections gift-wrapped for it in the last few weeks but has only managed 30% - this is a measure of the appetite for hard brexit. Farage said that if the referendum result was 48/52 there should be another.

2016 PEOPLE HAD A REASON TO VOTE BREXIT MORE THAN THOSE WHO WISHED NO CHANGE

2019 EU REF LOSERS OF FIRST VOTE HAD REASON MORE THAN OTHERS TO VOTE THIS TIME

2019 PETEBOROUGH MAYBE A SLIGHT DISAPPOINTMENT FOR BREXIT PARTY BUT SHOWS ALONG WITH THE LIB-DEM VOTE
EVEN HERE PEOPLE ARE STILL RELUCTANT TO MOVE FROM THE TWO MAIN PARTIES AS THESE STILL TOOK OVER 50% OF VOTES CAST.

Whoops sorry for shouting.

i'm sure this has been pointed out but you can watch them count the vote, from a distance, but they
don't do it in a locked room. if you work out which pile is which and have betfair mobile and can be bothered
it is probably still illegal but there is worse corruption

Corruption comes from postal voting and the counting of old peoples homes when the  wardens (appointed for political allegiance) often complete the 50 or so forms 'on behalf' of their residents. Nobody checks too closely when the results are in favour of the ruling group.
By:
donny osmond
When: 09 Jun 19 16:34
so wardens are appointed on the off chance there is a by election at which
point they often fill in the forms...

what if the old folk in care homes fill in their own forms , pretty sure the ones on
hear are capable of that

Attended the count for Miliband once Donny, amazed when several boxes all yielded crosses for him and none to anybody else. Several years later there was a case when a whistleblower revealed exactly what I said on t'internet and the council spent £250k of taxpayers funds trying to take him to court.Common knowledge around these parts, surprised you weren't aware of it.

In the instance you allude to aaron , the losers spent £9 million shoving out leaflets to everyone but still lost ! Then conspired to prosecute the successful underdogs ever since.
By:

When: 09 Jun 19 16:59
there were no underdogs, it was just two different sides of the establishment squabbling with each other

You won't have to worry about vote fixing in the years to come when we are an Islamic country .our islamic GOVERMENT won't allow it
They have strict laws for those who don't follow Sharia law .

There's people out there who steal things from Tesco who don't realise that not only will they not be able to steal when found guilty  but they won't be able to play the piano also
By:

This is why the supermarkets want us to become  an Islamic country because shop lifting will definitely be cut by large numbers and they will make bigger profits

But they will think twice if they know they won't be able to ever play the piano again

It might just of been because I wasn't wearing my Roy Rogers costume and cowboy hat  that needed washing when I usually sang it
My ex wife even felt sorry for me when I didn't get my standing ovation she could see I was upset .she even give me some tissues to wipe my eyes and the snot off the sleeve of my jumper
