You can't actually deliver an form of Brexit atm until you come up with a majority for one. No dealers, Tory Brexit, Labour Brexit, all are totally incompatible and that is the problem Brexit is fighting. This all stems from the mistakes made in 2017, the consensus for what Brexit was going forward should have been decided then, in 2019 they still haven't decided and they have actually made finding a consensus far less likely now as people have moved towards the extremes (either remain or no deal with no compromise).

If they'd actually done that in 2017 we would have been out now.

Merkels government in further trouble and a move to the right in Germany. I can't think of what possible insane and suicidal action she could have done to cause that?Confused

mouse my guess is 51% leave 49% remain

that is based on the referendum.

it was a straight shootout.

think that is the best guide, and these elections go to show the country hasn't swayed much.

They are not out because Theresa was a remainer all along and really good at kicking a can down a road.

Running a referendum leave vs remain would be absolute idiocy, no way they would do that, that's what go us in the mess in the first place. Leave has to stand for something otherwise you will just have another 3 years debating what it is if it won.

By:

May failed if anything because she pandered too much to the leavers, her initial plan was to pander to the ERG, problem was that plan didn't have the majority and the ERG were also unreliable. The consensus found in 2017 almost certainly would have moved us towards a softer Brexit closer to the lines that Labour advocate now, but even a lot of Labour MPs wouldn't vote for it unequivocally now, but would have in 2017, very few MPs were out to just stop Brexit in 2017, it was May that forced them into that position, and it will be the Conservatives that force Labour into that position in the coming months.

Germany moving so right that the CDU won and the Greens come 2nd Laugh.

Germany aren't stupid enough to go to the far right as they know better than any other country the pitfalls of doing so.

a six week old Party trounces every established political party & media & betfair massive add up the other tree huggers & Jeremy Thorpe lovers to make a case for remain winning. Just about the most childish thing I've seen in 2 years. Quite understandable as most remainders eat way too much cereal

What % did Tommy Robinson get ? Must have been tiny.

Doesn't do much for the 'far right on the rise' narrative, unless you consider everyone but the Lib Dems and Greens as far right.

exactly, the far right movement is tiny in the UK, just a narrative that the left like to play on

We've literally had people threatening violence in this thread tonight if they don't get their no deal, in fact we often get that publicly.

Brexit is funded nearly all by far right characters who if they got there way would then bring in their far right policies, which incidentally is why this idea of a left Brexit is fantasy.

Brexiteers voted for Brexit Party more than UKIP though as Conservatives and Labour performed far worse than 2014, so more Brexiteers shifted there in the first place.
