The church persecuted people’s minds and ultimately their bodies for millennia. The only thing the rich are doing is attempting to gain personal redemption now they have all the money they can get, imo.

The Catholic Church isn’t the same as the Anglican one. They expect contributions to pay for all the bling.

Dusty, my use of the word caring was very much ironic. It's very easy to be nice when you are in a position of privilege.

I don’t personally want to get dragged into the ‘anti- semitic’ argument.

But it’s not anti-Semitic. If you take a view The Rothschilds’ actions have a negative impact (as well as some positive ones) but can’t mention them because they happen to be of a certain faith, even when not mentioning that faith....then we are in a bit of a pickle arnt we?

For anyone interested Niall Ferguson (a Tory boy btw) wrote a good book on the house of Rothschild. People can make their own mind up about whether the things they did were actually good for the collective or not. My own view is they were very fortunate to have been in a position to make a lot of money and ultimately influence power, pretty much unregulated.
Plus the endogamy is pretty ugly.....
