Common Purpose indoctrination

You're saying the primary age pupils were being indoctrinated with left wing views? What evidence is there for this? Saddo said "They are being taught one side of the argument on climate change, propaganda." and No children should be propagandised with the politics of their teachers, whatever age. So I asked if climate change was happening. You said: I rest my case. Your logic and flow of argument was cathy newman like. In fact so bad, next thing you know you'll be saying climate change is deliberately caused by space lizard semites who caused 9/11! LaughWhoops My flow of argument was logical yours was deliberately missing part of the argument so was misleading and incorrect. |

What is denied is the effect that man has on climate change.
So the question ''do you believe in climate change?'' is the wrong question. |
|
By:
The Corbyn brothers are polar opposites on this matter. I suspect that one of em knows an awful lot about it and the other one not much more than I do.
|
|
By:
It's not CC though is it. That's not what they're protesting about. It's man made CC.
CC happens every year. It's natural for a globe rotating at 1000 miles an hour on the outskirts of the Galaxy, 90m miles from the sun to have variations in weather.... |
|
By:
I don't believe anyone in their right mind would deny that man is having an adverse affect on climate change. So you're excused Crippen.

Look out, Charlie's got his arse in his hand again.

I don't believe anyone in their right mind would deny that man is having an adverse affect on climate change. Charlie , this is chit-chat . Hardly any of us in here are in our right mind ![]() |
|
By:
Locally I agree Charlie. We can see that all the time. Housebuilding for example.
Look at Africa though. They've yet to have an industrial revolution. Are we to believe activity on other continents is changing their weather patterns? |
|
By:
Climate change varies throughout the years and centuries and millennia. Certain aspects of climate change are, unfortunately, speeding up as a result of man. Global warming is a real phenomenon not a made up thing. You'll be telling me next that plastic pollution isn't a problem.
|
|
By:
Good stuff from Charlie, our residence science correspondent whose previous job was a bricklayer.
|
|
By:
The biggest affect on climate is over population, but no one from the left wants to discuss that.
|
|
By:
Global Warming is a term that's largely been ditched baecause of heavy snowfalls and other cold weather. CC encompasses all weather patterns.
Plastic is a problem, especially harmful to sealife. But it's the dumping of it rather than the product itself that's the concern. |
|
By:
There were no factories or farming of animals the last time we had huge climate change.

It's a common problem here to conclude it's a form of zero sum game: The climate changes by itself OR man can change it.
Of course it's not a zero sum game and it's quite plausible, in fact it's obviously correct, that it could be (and I'd conclude IS) BOTH. I.e. The climate changes by itself AND man can change it. |
|
By:
Injera I have no idea whether building houses has an effect on the weather. Deforestation does though. Depleting the ozone layer does. Killing off ecosystems does. There's lots more.
|
|
By:
IS - migration also.
Most CC protestors will probably be globalists who want open borders. They'll also want our green and pleasant land to be concreted over. How do they square that circle? |

Charlie - towns and cities, even rural housing estates are warmer places. Less air flow, heat bouncing off concrete, tarmac and brick.
The more we build the more we affect wildlife. We disrupt the routes birds and insects travel. All new homes have tiny or no gardens. Water not harvested via ditches and streams. Not used for irrigation. It just goes into the drains and out to sea. When did you last see a farmer ditching anywhere close to a town? |
|
By:
" The problem which you seem to miss, or be avoiding, is that man is bringing on a major change in the climate over the whole world"
Where the **** did I miss or avoid this? |
|
By:
So CC protestors don't wave Socialist banners calling for revolution, open borders, unlimited housing etc etc?
Oh ok... |
|
By:
A lot of people are making piles of money out of green manufacturing.
Look for the money and the answer won't be far away. And as the predictions fall by the wayside, the day of reckoning gets pushed further and further into the future. So as the ones with egg on their faces die, they're quickly replaced by more harbingers of doom who tirelessly keep the show on the road. |
|
By:
It just needs enough people like Charlie to fall for the bullshine.
|
|

Injera
I'd imagine most CC protesters want just the opposite: no concrete, less building on green sites, less disruption to natural wildlife habitat, etc. I am seriously missing your point. I think you have a desire to belittle genuine protesters and label them "leftists". Are you really saying that? |
|
By:
JC
It's getting a bit convoluted now. You know my stance as I've clearly and unambiguously stated it. What's yours? Are you saying that man is not adding to global warming/climate change? |
|
By:
Today's demo saw the Socialist Workers Party front and centre. They want unlimited free movement across the world. That equals unlimited house building.
I'm not insulting anyone. Compare my language with yours and edy's. I'm making my case. It's my view. It's chit chat.... ![]() |

Using school children for political and propaganda purposes is as low as you can get. I don't blame the kids, they're only parroting what the teachers, parents and main stream propaganda tell them.

I haven't seen any Socialist Workers Party (I haven't seen any kids protesting though!). To jump from free movement of people to denying climate change is a leap too far. There is no logical connection. |

Get 'em when they're young and they'll believe anything.
Which is how religion's survived for thousands of years. |
|

I believe we do. I said :
"it's quite plausible, in fact it's obviously correct, that it could be (and I'd conclude IS) BOTH. I.e. The climate changes by itself AND man can change it." The extent is debatable of course but I believe we can and do. My problem is the hysteria, and the green parties are now basically packed with marxists idiots using "the environment" as a feel good cloak to try and get power. The sensible thing to do would be to take obvious reasonable steps to try and prevent CC but do a cost/balance on each measure, (don't do something thta will hurt you a lot for little change to meet an arbitrary target) while at the same time advancing technology so we don't need to rely on fossil fuels anyway. E.g. I'm a believer in nuclear power. Got to have SOME energy source to power the G5 death rays ![]() |

Obviously not true Crippen. Somebody got you young and never educated you.

Is Charlie stupid or trying to defend his allegiance.
|
|
By:
Charlie - I don't deny localised man made CC.
As for the Socialists - they're position is often hypocritical and that's the point I'm trying and failing to make. They want Govts and business to reduce C02 omissions (the very gas plants and trees need to survive). Meanwhile they want to have open borders leading to mass migration increasing demand for houses schools, roads, plastics etc. All of which increases the carbon footprint in the UK and changes local climates. |

Anyway if there is anything in it...then the children are the ones that are going to experience it... Us oldies who caused it will be long dead. This is one for scientists...at the moment they do not agree and we will run out of Fossil fuels at some point? |

There's quite a few arguments and sub-plots going on here which I'm struggling to get my head around. But I'll try and sum up before I retire for the night. The last few posts have been agreeing that global warming/climate change is a problem. Man isn't helping with this.
The main problem is to do with politics with Marxists, Socialists and the Green Parties all indoctrinating our children with misconceived and devious plans. Chic Chat really is a mysterious place. Good night. |

Well that's simply abuse Charlie. Are you trying to replace STUDYFORM as the most abusive poster on the forum? |
