Am I right in thinking that KAY sorted it out (as predicted) and PDQ with it?
One blast from her in the Sky HD Copter would soon scare off even the most persistent drone I'd imagine. |
|
By:
she has surprised me, Alun. I suggested she would sort this out by lunchtime; but it seems that Kay (acting under guise of Military Operations) has excelled herself today

Mr Grayling has a somewhat unfortunate habit of talking while simultaneously smiling regardless of the subject matter. I hope he never has to give a statement about a real transport disaster

Expert on the radio this morning said drones can be pre programmed so basically fly themselves.
The operator can be up to 20 miles away. What still makes no sense is the battery life which is short. So how can it come down and be recharged without people seeing it? |
|
By:
My understanding is that battery life is only short if you're unwilling to throw more than a couple of hundred quid at it. Spend a decent amount (or modify your own) and a lot more becomes possible, apparently.
That said, the text that accompanied the DM video yesterday claimed that the drone pictured was chased by the police helicopter and landed to the east of the airport.... Again, there are a lot more questions than answers! |
|
By:
could have been stocking up on drones for years, and programmed them to fly one
after another over a 30 hour period amazing wot can be done with a bit of planning, or imagination ![]() |

i've been looking at commercial drones. There is actually a passenger drone that costs 300k. I think it's still illegal to fly though. It only flies for 23 minutes. The longest flight time i've seen is 30 mnutes

I don’t know what happened and never would I wish to investigate it Absolutely no need for you to change the habit of a lifetime of posting really is there ? Just keep it real ifc. |

By:
On reflection you probably waste far less time in posting your nonsense than you would by carrying out any form of self research so fair play to you.

Here is something for you to ponder ifc...

Chocolates handed out to delay-hit Gatwick passengers....
Gatwick staff have been handing out packs of Christmas variety chocolates to passengers affected by the delays. Workers have been touring the terminals with trollleys loaded with the treats. |

The culprit would have known of the max prison term of 5 years. 2 1/2 years for good behaviour.
The Home Office, Plod ect should have issued a joint statement saying this is potentially attempted mass murder which carries a life term with no chance of release. The drone would have been grounded in 10 minutes. |

[/b] would this be the G2K proprietary hybrid gasoline-electric propulsion system, by any chance? It also has a battery life of 5 minutes top the flight time were also measured at temperatures between 50 75 degrees. Actual flight times depend on temperature, altitude, wind and other environmental conditions. best not cherry pick wen trying to big oneself up |

By:
I have no idea where the battery flight time fits into the equation, TBH, but it is quite clear that the thing can fly for FAR longer than that:
"The Perimeter was designed to operate for extreme periods of time, over long ranges, and over wide operating conditions. Cold temperature operation Demonstrated 4 hour 54 minute hover endurance 8.8 lb. (4 kg) payload capacity 25 mph wind tolerance" |
