Investigations will continue and if this couple are innocent we may see more drones
it’s possible |
By:
Poor couple, faces plastered all over the press, which is wrong to begin with. British police are not fit for purpose.
By:
media camped outside their house as well, ridiculous, should be a law against it until proven guilty

It's called 'Freedom of the Press' , it's all about public interest . |
By:
The drone reports did stop while this couple were in custody. Doesn't mean there were any drones; just that the reports stopped. Strange scenes indeed
By:
Thus couple have merely done their duty , all drone users should do the same
By:
it's called harrassing innocent people when they have not been proved to be guilty.
If someone accused you of murder, when you were no where near the scene, you would be comfortable with the world press camped outside your family home poking cameras through your windows and harrassing family members ![]() |

LFC would make them green tea

its not in the public interest to show the two faces of people who were currently innocecnt, the public may have been interested to see who they were, but it was not in their interest as they didn't need to know who the 'suspects' were.
By:
It’s not the end of the world now is it , they have done their duty as citizens
All drone users should do the same |
By:
I was interested to see their faces ( they looked guilty to me but that doesn’t matter the courts decide that in Britain
By:
people should only be arrested on evidence not fishing trips because someone maybe with a grudge puts your name in the frame, 24 hrs ago a woman known to the man sat in the custody suite and told police she was sat with the man 20 miles away supping tea watching the drone coverage on tv, what evidence did the police or person who shopped them provide to counter act her evidence ,that meant they wernt released for a further 24 hrs,
as opposed to terrorists on watch lists dropped by police, security services because basically they get bored of watching them |
By:
If I am arrested again on suspicion of murder then I would be more than happy to have the press camped outside . The more the merrier . It is their constitutional right .
By:
"damaged drone" now found close to the airport. That was convenient; and quick
By:
well thats ok then, Reynard is happy to be abused so everyone else must be
![]() |
By:
I didn't say they were entitled to abuse me or anyone . But they are not breaking any laws .
By:
ah good a drone has been found , that’s good evidence
By:

By:
Of couse they're not breaking laws otherwise they wouldn't be there, their names should not have been made public for them to be there in the first place, they should have been protected til Police charged them, which they didn't.
By:
There are lots of things you can do that are not illegal, but morally reprehensible.
By:
same person who put them in the frame probably made a few quid giving their name to the press, woman who give the bloke his alibi said she had a good idea who it was and why
By:
the British are like that, don’t trust anyone
By:
lfc : 'I was interested to see their faces ( they looked guilty to me)'
Please God don't let this man on a jury.. |
By:
Just seen them on the news being shuffled out of a police fan, haveing to cover their faces, with the press trying to flash cameras in their faces, what a disgrace

Of couse they're not breaking laws otherwise they wouldn't be there, their names should not have been made public for them to be there in the first place, they should have been protected til Police charged them, which they didn't. The whole thing had gotten out of control so the police were forced to arrest someone , anyone , and make their arrest as public as possible so as to divert attention away from what was a huge disaster . They have now been released (worth the compo) , but the attention has now been diverted away from the 'drone' nonsense so job done ! |
By:
SH - it's shameful. Mud sticks. They're a local couple and could face all sort of backlash for this.
By:
i've seen coverage with their faces blocked out, scandanavian_haven. A bit late i would suggest
By:
Detective Cheif Superintendent Jason Tingley of Sussex police said when asked should their names have been made public after coming home to find their names anf faces in the media he said "we never give out the names and their names being made public hindered their investigation"
that's the British media, never mind justice and respect for the police's investigation - they just wanted clicks on their website pages and papers bought, that's all they care about nothing else, money, money, money. |
By:
They possibly agreed to this in return for some sort of financial gain . The Gatwick shut down cover up story had become so ridiculous they needed to divert attention at any cost .
If I had mortgage arrears and someone offered me a few days of invasive publicity in return for a mortgage free house (plus new car , maybe) then I think I'd snap their hands off ![]() |
By:
Tingley is a mug for saying that. We all know they can impose reporting restrictions when it suits.
By:
They could have had their faces covered from the outset , but that would defeat the object . They know that the media love a face and the cameras and reporters would be switched from Gatwick to Crawley and the focus would be taken away from the real story .
By:
such a fuss , why should there be any problems for this couple but that the police have said there is nothing to answer
Now it is important that they were interviewed and ruled out of the investigation |
By:
Found the drone
Always amazes me how easily and quickly they find the culprits and weapons of choice But can't seem to find the culprits that rob a supermarket etc |
By:
no drones over Gatwick today , so far
The net is closing in |
By:
They've found the drone cos the original diversion story (the arrested couple) , had got out of hand , so now they needed another diversion story to divert the media attention away from the previous diversion story .
They're totally oblivious to the fact that they are a complete laughing stock and an embarrassment to their professions . |
By:
either they have found a drone or they haven’t , which is it
By:
It’s good progress
