Forget that. It was supposed to be a joke referencing a previous football question but I've just realised it doesn't work. Cry

I would imagine most European countries would have recognised Israel fairly soon after its establishment but don't know the answer and never really considered it.

I just kind of assumed a 'Yes' vote at the UN was an implicit recognition. Thinking about it, I guess some countries voted 'No' but did later recognise the state of Israel.

Yes, just googled it and I see that India recognised Israel in 1950 and iirc they voted 'No'.

Still countries that would fail to let people in if they have as much as an Israeli stamp on their passport.

Correct Nick. WD. Managed by Shankly.

When I said close, similar nicknames, The Blues and The Dark Blues.

Yes, "close" did have me wondering.

There's an old quiz question along the lines of, "name the British cities to have had two teams in EC semi-finals".  Dundee was often the one people couldn't get.

Actually, I think the question is:

Name the cities (all nations) to have had two teams in European Cup or ECL semi-finals.

Can you name them though? (I'm not sure how many there are but six or eight rings a bell.)

I think there might be at least two countries outside the Arab League.

Not Birmingham. How did they get to compete in the European Cup?

Of course, London has three teams. When I first heard this question they had just one - Tottenham.
