I would imagine most European countries would have recognised Israel fairly soon after its establishment but don't know the answer and never really considered it.
I just kind of assumed a 'Yes' vote at the UN was an implicit recognition. Thinking about it, I guess some countries voted 'No' but did later recognise the state of Israel. |

Yes, just googled it and I see that India recognised Israel in 1950 and iirc they voted 'No'.

Yes, "close" did have me wondering.
