A Labour spokesman repeated the party's call for her to "do the decent thing" and stand down.
"If she refuses to stand down, Labour will actively support local residents in their efforts to trigger a by-election through a recall petition," he said. From the bbc. |

Until the local party do something, she will continue as an MP.

This just in
. https://order-order.com/2019/03/05/onasanya-recall-petition-process-initiated/ I'm surprised that Little Owen Jones hasn't led the charge to get this dreadful MP sacked, given his attempts to unseat others (e.g. Boris Johnson) who managed to rub along by without a criminal conviction and prison sentence. |

Little Owen might well think it was waycist to prosecute the vole.

You're on the ball alun...(sorry!)
She has a majority of just 607 from the Conservatives. ![]() |

Injera - no probs, alas I never had a pair of AB's white boots.
I am reminded though of this fantastic game from 1973, where he inspired Arsenal to a famous victory at Anfield. . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nToZhd3fudY |

The woman is the complete opposite of "beyond reproach"; her appeal was rejected, and she was told there was no basis for her appeal. On the plus side, she represented herself...probably the last time she could do so as a solicitor!
A recall-petition process has been initiated by John Bercow the Speaker Of the House Of Commons; she's going, and soon...........gone, gone, gone for good. And good riddance too! |

Superb alun!! And what a crowd. Oh for terracing.... Been to Anfield with the Hammers and remember the Kop like this.
Be amusing to see today's pansies play in that mud! |

In fairness Cap'n that Anfield pitch wasn't half as tricky as some of the middens Clough and Taylor used to serve up at the Baseball Ground and the City Ground.

Perhaps the Con Party could oppose her with Mr Werritty in the by-election. I'm sure he would appeal to the demographic of Peterborough.
Now that he is no longer "the formerly disgraced Secretary of State for Defence" i'm sure that Dr Liam wouldn't mind knocking on a few doors for him in exchange for "favours". Obviously Dr Liam could claim mileage and then rent Adam a flat in the area if he was successful - but the good doctor is probably too busy finalising trade deals with Easter Island or Ascension Island. Being such a selfless individual maybe he is too busy plotting for his third failed attempt at the leadership. |
|
By:
Let's hope she's out post a by-election. And in the meantime stop remuneration at the tax-payer expense - she's convicted liar.
|
|
By:
If lying was an offence they would all be in the scrubs - you are correct that she is convicted though so it makes a mockery of the term "Right Honourable". It's a shame the standards are so low and the rules so lax that both sides of both houses have a growing smattering of people (that if they worked in other "professions") should be doing a stint at HM pleasure.

A Recall Petition to remove MP for Peterborough Fiona Onasanya from her role opens tomorrow
If 10 per cent of her constituents (6,967 people) sign the petition within a six week period then she will lose her seat and a by-election will be triggered. It will cost approximately £500,000 to run, but the costs are met fully by the Government. |

By:
Costs are met fully by the taxpayer.

I don't get it, if she's bang to rights, caught lying, breaking the law, trying to frame someone else, how could she possibly be back as an MP in the commons, nothing she ever said would carry weight, she would never be able to accuse anyone of lying, telling mistruths or being untrustworthy - which are all prerequisites as a member of parliament, what is the point, she is damaged goods and should go quietly for the sake of Labour. She must be competely delusional to think her career is not over.
|
|
By:
£1,500 a week is good excuse.
|
|
By:
The quota will be met with days - she's toast as an MP for good.
|
|
By:
Betfair could run a market on this - when will the petition reach 6967.
|
|
By:
I hope so, impossible but my partner won't bother to go and sign and neither will her daughter. Both my parents are in there 80s and won't bother and there are a large amount of ethnically who won't understand what's going on so I won't hold my breath.

She must be competely delusional to think her career is not over. You don't follow politics then? It works like this: Get caught (lying, lining own pockets, giving friends/family a leg up, abusing position, stealing, cheating, being a perv) Deny it strenuously - and threaten your accusers with libel/slander Tell lies - until the evidence becomes too damning and is completely irrefutable Reluctantly admit it - but don't apologise and still refuse to resign - hope it goes away Eventually resign (but only for the good of the party) - but don't apologise Bide your time (doesn't need to be long - people have short memories) Return to front bench/cabinet (maybe even run for the leadership) Behave with a sense of entitlement, self-importance and arrogance to cover for being exposed as a lying, cheating, self serving piece of scum. Repeat as required. |

The comments under it are outstanding.
Claiming innocence to something her son pleaded guilty to. Confirms the type of person she is. Will do and say anything to hold onto her £73k |

It's the straight face that does me in . She would make a mean poker adversary

I could not bring myself to watch the video pleading her innocence. But, one question to those who watched: Did she ever mention about the statement given by her then manager of communication to the Prosecution that she was in the area on the day in question for political business with him? And, possibly her brother Festus who did not back up her story that she was not the driver either?
Pleading one's innocence is one thing, proving it is a totally different proposition; a string of coincidences cannot be just that...in all probability. She's no credibility left, and her behaviour since prison not endearing to anyone either. |
|
By:
Never explained anything. Just axed people what would they do if they were found guilty of something they never did, and boasted about her parliamentary work.

The tnuc had the temerity to vote in yesterday's debate....anyone know how the petition to deselect her is progressing or is Corbyn hoping it'll all blow over and he can then promote her to the front bench as shadow prisons minister.
