takes two sides to do a deal

Donny isn't interested in that G.
What Donny is suggesting is do what the EU wants.
He can only see this through the eyes of the EU.

We import food from all over the world, not just the EU.

In terms of getting our food else where, the laws of supply and demand come into force, the demand for food in the UK will not change, but the supply will, if we can not get it from the EU, the price will rise from our new/old non-EU suppliers, who know full well we need them, this a fundamental rule of economics.

but there is a deal to be done .....

No there isn't Donny.
The EU rejected our proposals without saying why and without negotiating.

the deal the eu wants as got to be bad for us to stop other nations wanting to leave, the greek finance minister explained this about the eu in a interview a couple of years ago were greece were forced to accept a deal were the eu had no chance of getting their money back compared to one were they had a chance to get it back but they didnt care,it had to be bad for the greeks to stop other nations wanting help

this a fundamental rule of economics.

Competition would negate that 'rule' as suppliers vie to do trade with us.
Always good to stand back and see the bigger picture.

WTO rules would stop this happening.

This rule was around before you were born, it will be around after you are dead, you're not qualified to dismiss it, I HTH Happy

WTO rules would stop this happening.

Explain this in detail please, what rules?, be specific, you posted it..

i'm not being silly....there will be chaos at our ports, all this stuff nodded through will stop.

I read somewhere recently , I can't remember the source and I may indeed be incorrect , but they are no longer 'our' ports . British ports are Saudi owned and if this is the case it may not be the EU that hold us to ransom .

If this is not the case please feel free to correct me .
Thanks in advance , Reynard .

over 200 posts the most used phrase been do a deal, all missing the most important point
if you were giving carte blanche to change the government, pick your own mp,s you still couldn't come up with a deal that would get through the commons never mind get the EU to agree with one
we would be better off starting from the end game and working back ,everyone agrees if the irish border could be solved we,d at least have a deal to put to the commons, so really its no point may and eu coming to a deal then the dup, sein fein etc knocking it back,so obvious starting point is to lock all the irish parties in a room to see if they can come to a deal there happy with if not, only possible way forward is for may to ditch the dup so we,re in general election terroitory anyway

latest fudge suggests coming to a deal over border controls that the irish assembely agrees to and as their not sitting they cant presently say no,so it gets kiked down the road and llows trade talks to start, seriously is any serious PM ,mp going to wave that approach through

saw the Altrincham piece and sky failing to mention the most obvious reason for the success of this project
Manchester is one of the most growing ,affluent parts of the country awash with money, artisan bakers, orange pip style markets, cool bars etc, theres no skill in relieving well off yummy mummy middle class families of their hard earned the hard part is creating well off yummy mummy middle class families in the 1st place, you could recreate these places in 80% of the country and on a daily basis wont sell as much as a one £3,50 home made olive baked sourdough loave

On the news last night the reporter was saying Labour's prime focus now is contriving another early general election.

If true (and I don't doubt it as the party is run by marxist sc-m who don't want to be in the EU anyway as EU rules would stop them bringing about a Venezuela style socialist state) - this is hardly pulling together for the good of the country, is it?

Agree, these niche/fashionable small businesses wouldn't last 3 months in dying working class towns like Rotherham etc.

Cheers for a more indepth opinion 1stTP
Just shows one way of thinking works here but not
down the road.As with EU and Brexit different things
for different areas work so niether is a good model
although brexit probably wins out as the best of the two
as in theory would be more flexible. But theory often does not work
god i cover myself with these statements quite well maybe i should go into
the government.

Don't have much time for the woman but credit where it's due - that Chequers plan must be a real doozy.

She's managed to come up with something which pisses everybody off. Her Cabinet dislike it, her MPs dislike it, Leavers dislike it, remainers dislike it and the eu bigwigs dislike it. Takes some doing that.
