'Every accuser deserves to be heard. But a process of verification is also necessary. In this case, the accusations were made in a private letter, which has been misrepresented in a number of media stories, from an accuser who has declined to go public and has asked for privacy. The letter sent to investigators has had her name redacted, meaning no further investigation could take place.'

Whole thing smells of Democrat straw clutching and mud slinging of the most desperate kind.

36 years ago this was suppose to have taken place when both parties were 15 & 17.  How could this stand-up in a court of law???

Dems had known about this 'letter' for a full month, but not one Democrat congress man or woman mentioned it to Kavanaugh during the Senate Judicial Committee hearing grilling they gave him.
Maybe be they wrote it themselves as an insurance policy, they have form like that.
65 of Kavanaughs female past school mates have written a public letter supporting and endorsing him.
Dems love a good mud slinging session with obstruction game playing.

interesting to see if the other guy is named or not and what he may have to say. Somehow I doubt there will be evidence to prove this happened even if it did. Clearly the Democrats playing every possible card to prevent this guy being nominated before the mid terms and quite rightly too. American politics clearly is the Swamp. So sad the Country has fallen so low and I hope they find some members of the kwality if John McCain. I didn't agree with his politics but he was a good man.

So forget the time-honored notions like due process, probable cause, beyond a reasonable doubt or a jury of your peers.
Today, unsupported, uncorroborated, untested words, not facts are sufficient to convict not just in the court of public opinion, but in the esteemed hallowed halls of the United States Senate. 

Forget the right to counsel, the ability to defend yourself, the right confront your accuser or even cross-examine your accuser.
Truth in this scheme is nothing more than collateral damage if a Republican is on the receiving end of an anonymous allegation.

One Anita Hill appeared out of the woodwork at the exact same time just after the Senate hearings were finished claiming Clarence Thomas sexually harrassed when they worked together.
