Do try to remember that we live in Great Britain - if we started issuing decrees about what people may or may not wear we can just drop the 'Great' bit and be done with it.

Yes but!
I still find it offensive! I am not advocating a ban but I am not allowed to fill my car wearing a baseball cap ( not that I have one! ) |

By:
I'm curious as to why you find it offensive
|
|
By:
Because it is like saying I am beautiful and you are a man and cannot control yourself. Guess what, maybe you're not and I can! We don't live in caves anymore this is a civilised society. Same things with mini skirts and boob tubes in Islamic Countries. They find it offensive as I do in the Medway Towns on a Friday Night. I am all for making the burkha mandatory for some of the locals!
I think if anybody hides their face it is akin to an insult. There is no need for it. It is nothing about personal safety, modesty or any of the like. How would you feel about groups of yutes bowling around in hoodies and full face mask's? Many would feel intimidated. You can't go into a shopping centre or many shops dressed liked that...why? because it is rude and also sinister! Wearing a face veil is offensive to me! |

This study in the Lancet had it at 37% of children (1922 of 5127 babies) with offspring from first cousin union with mothers of Pakistani origin.
https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(13)61132-0/fulltext I do not know where the Mail 'studies' come from to be honest. The take home is that the percentage of first cousin unions is extremely high in this community. It was talked about a lot around 2010 but now is an unfashionable topic. |
|
By:
Considering how many problems UK has with this community, one should be promoting cousin marriages, not prohibiting it. If it is indeed 55% and 75%, they are inbreeding themselves to extinction. Where's the problem?
|
|
By:
The problem is heightened in places like the isle of Sheppey where your dad, grandad and scoutmaster could be the same person! A virgin is defines as someone who can run faster than her brother!

BBC Breaking News @BBCBreaking
3m Former EDL leader Tommy Robinson freed on bail after winning legal challenge against contempt of court finding bbc.in/2LUebXe |
|
By:
out on bail, to face retrial, ..probably
september ..ish |
|
By:
Just enough time to get himself a decent tan .
Then if they decide to incarcerate him again he'll find it easier to blend in with the majority of his fellow inmates thus helping to ensure his safety . |

That's assuming he hasn't converted to Islam and been radicalised during the last couple of months ...................

Poor guy, tells the truth and gets castigated for it.

At last...a judge with a modicum of common sense.Lets hope Tommy remains free to carry on the work that our gutless media continues to kick into the long grass.

Welcome back, Tommy. Hurrah!

So we now know, irrefutably, from the Lord Chief Justice himself, that Tommy Robinson was improperly tried, improperly convicted, improperly sentenced and improperly treated in prison. Every single element of his treatment was illegal. Everything. He was a political prisoner.

n his written judgement, Lord Burnett said: "We are satisfied that the finding of contempt made in Leeds following a fundamentally flawed process, in what we recognise were difficult and unusual circumstances, cannot stand.
"We will direct that the matter be reheard before a different judge." ^ What anyone with any sense said all along. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-45029755 |
|
By:
Don't mean to pop your bubble but he's going to be re-tried and from the words of said Chief Justice there's a decent chance he'll get a longer sentence given he's admitted the offence.
|
|
By:
Maybe. My guess is he will not do another day in prison for this.
|
|
By:
When will the UK be investigating, and taking appropriate action against the individuals responsible for the 'fundamentally flawed' process that led to the improper imprisonment of Robinson?

All this man has ever done is said in public what millions of ordinary people up and down the country have been saying amongst themselves for the last 10 years and more .
The difference between Tommy and the 'silent' millions is that he has had the courage to stand up and be heard , at great personal cost . I would be the first to condemn some of his actions but at the same time I admire him for what he has achieved and believe that his motives are honorable . He has more integrity than those in 'power' who seek to silence him . |

I agree with the first bit Reynard, but i think he is being used for reasons given earlier, no way to they want to shut him up

terry mccann - I take your point . I'm sure there are things that are not in the public domain at this time . However , I do believe that his intentions are for the greater good of this country and its people . That's something that cannot be claimed by our corrupt political elite .

funny how some newspapers completely ignore this story why would that be? |
|
By:
The court found that:
* Tommy should not have been put on trial that same day * Tommy’s lawyer did not have proper time to prepare his case * the judge in Leeds never clearly presented what Tommy had allegedly done wrong * the judge did not watch the entire video of Tommy, that supposedly was proof of his contempt * the judge did not follow the criminal procedure rules * the sentence was disproportionate; and * Tommy’s treatment in prison was inappropriate Details you won't see on any mainstream media. Basically he was ****** over. |

Africa's real story is this:
South Africa will push ahead with plans to amend the constitution to allow land expropriation without compensation, its president says. In a recorded address, President Cyril Ramaphosa said the ruling ANC will "finalise a proposed amendment" allowing the move. He said the reform was "of critical importance" to the economy. Recent months have seen growing anger about the slow pace of land reform in South Africa. The country's white minority is believed to have a disproportionate hold over land, with a few thousand white commercial farmers possessing the most fertile lands. However, critics fear expropriation could lead to land grabs, as happened in neighbouring Zimbabwe. - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-45026931 Theft. Racially motivated. Because the blacks don't learn farming from the whites, it'll fail and lead to starvation. Very well done boneheads. |
