Don't be silly. The Litvinenko case certainly had enough evidence for trial and extraditions were sought but Russia declined.
If you you suspect state sponsored murder and have bucket loads of evidence it is still not going to trial unless you have
gone to war and conquered that state. Otherwise an inquest is all that can be done.
There was an inquiry and the report found that Litvinenko was killed by two Russian agents, for what that was worth.

Yes , exactly . There were NO trials and NO convictions relating to the two assasinations to which you refer (Georgi Markov was indeed Bulgarian , not Hungarian - we all make mistakes lol) .

Yes there was an enquiry and the report found that Litvinenko was killed by two Russian agents . You also added the words "for what that was worth" . Exactly ! Enquiries are there to serve a purpose , give the people the 'facts' that suit a specific agenda . We have had plenty of enquiries in recent years that aint worth Jack ! Hillsborough (2 enquiries) The Iraq enquiry (Chilcott report) . Theres gonna be another cover up soon when we get the result of the Grenfell enquiry .

Ok , for the record I do believe that both assasinations were carried out by foreign agents (possibly russian) but , as you quite rightly said , one doesn't need evidence to accuse , one does need evidence to convict . An ex-KGB agent Oleg Gordievski (I think) allegedly did confess to his involvement in the poison umbrella assasination of Georgi Markov , but as of today , no convictions .

And here we go again , people being taken seriously ill and all we know is what we are told via the government controlled media . But simply by looking at what we already know and/or can find with a little investigative logic we can be sure that what the government is feeding us is probably a pack of lies . For example , if it was indeed Novichok they would not have survived-FACT . What is even more important is one simple question . Why ?

Simon Jenkins of The Guardian ask the question where is the evidence?

He is a highly respected journalist. We are moving in to 1984. We thought Chump was the killer of the truth but our own Government needs to be brought to account. We need some proof of what is going on.

I dare say some of out football fans in Moscow will get beaten up soon! This is a very sad state of affairs and there are people here of opposite political persuasions need to wise up and identify who the real enemy is. Clearly the Russian people are not.

I do not get paid in Roubles or really watch Russia Today.

Oooooh ! An Orwellian reference , I do so love an Orwellian reference . Two legs good and all that lol

Sadly there are few highly respected journalists with the self respect to report on such matters with integrity and honesty .
As for needing the proof of what is going on , it's there , right in front of our eyes . But speak that truth and one is ridiculed and hounded and labelled as 'far right' and therefore hold views and opinions that mustn't be voiced . Foe evil to triumph all that is required is for good men to do nothing .

you didn't even notice that the soviet union has fallen - why would anyone respect your opinion?

I am aware that the soviet union has broken up (as opposed to fallen) but I'm confused about left , right , middle wing etc . As seems to be the norm these days , someone expresses an opinion and rather than debate the point and examine their opinion its easier to say "oh you're far right so I'm not going to discuss it with you" . That way they avoid the difficult situation of rational discussion .
Therefore I ask again , what did I say that warrants being labelled as 'right-wing' or fascist , neo-nazi , xenophobe or whatever else you wanna sling my way ?

Also , and I respect your greater knowledge in this respect , is Russia more 'left-wing' than say for example the UK ? I'm getting old but I thought they were referred to as communist and I cannot recall when their politics changed markedly .

Thanks in advance , Reynard .

You need to wonder about the thought that seeing as The Russian Federation has been convicted of nothing they can't have
been involved. Clearly not involved in the murders of scores of journalists over the last 20 or so years either seeing as
there is rarely a trial let alone a conviction.

BTW I'm not saying they were involved in this latest very odd case, I have no idea, it has to at least be a possibility tho?

'A GOOD DAY TO HIDE BAD NEWS'  Remember that one from a government advisor(labour)

anyway

none of you silly billys are taking this seriously

Do you not remember the history of british 'intelligence' forces - quite despicable morals - look what James Bond got up to for starters and in WWII  the sneaky brits shoved a dead body into the sea to confuse the nazis about where the landings were going to take place  - that simply was not cricket

PIP PIP!!!

I am off to watch another despicable despot and his machinations
Possibly the greatest field general ever - NAPOLEON  - he was good at foul deeds - and confusing the enemy

he didn't play the game either

ps this is the barsteward that started all this EU nonsense too.

anyone get my drift?

On the news tonight seems to be the theory so far that it is related to the first event. Suggestions that it was a container used to apply the agent was discarded and these poor people came into contact with it, or the site where it was prepared.

I feel I should point out that I actually have several theories . Only one , maximum , may turn out to be correct . Therefore by very definition all the others will eventually be dismissed .
I may open a book on them at some point when I have studied the form a little more thoroughly but as things stand my 'Brexit diversion theory' is 25/1 on the tissue Plain

I've lost count of the number of times I have pointed this out !

By:

so let me get this straight. On the one hand the Russians are unfairly accused of various assassinations
yet if they did attempt it you assume they could not possibly fail. A confusing juxtaposition
