I am nearly sure you are right - especially over who would get punished. I am totally cynical about any of these politicos and their motives quite honestly.
What about a c0ck up theory - whatever the motive - it was done badly without full knowledge of the collateral damage etc. f??? We just don't know. |

I have to go now
A very nice tall pale man with a foreign accent has delivered another case of vodka so I will indulge with the rest of cheltenham now. thank you all my fans for listening to my words of wisdom(?) as your leading cult on this forum way ahead of you in analysis and first with the news ![]() |

We won't have any clue what's really going on now until enough documents are declassified and somebody writes a book in a few decades time. Blindly believing the security state or a 'conspiracy theory' is a s stupid as each other. History shows the official story often is the conspiracy theory. We just don't have a clue.

Is really any of this posturing by the political classes actually for the benefit of the British citizen?
I doubt it. Its more probable that they are actually sending the message to all those Russian oligarchs who bring money into London from questionable practises; saying 'don't worry about Putin bumping you off over here you are safe....bring your wallet' Where Putin is saying 'oh no you aintski' ![]() |

moisok... I'm not sure if I like the theory idea of a c0ck up, myself.
It leads you back to the sort of questions whisper asks... if Skripal was the only intended target of whoever done it - and to be bumped off discretely - then shirley there's better ways of going about it than mucking about with the margarita ingredients in a restaurant in Salisbury? Motives for doing it this way... for the Russians, it would be spreading the message that they're ruthless (this is obvs much more impactful than reports of a man falling off a stepladder at home, which probably gets no further than The Salisbury Tribune). For the UK AKA inside job, very similar reasons but in reverse - hard to be incandescent across the water off the back of a pensioner falling off a stepladder at his home. And even if it was a c0ck-up, you're still nowhere closer to knowing who done it (botch job or not) or why. |

Apparently somebody on the news this morning said the government wont know the names of the 23 suspected spies.
So how will they even know whether they have left? This isnt about the public, this is about the devious means that occur when divide and rule are used to control. If it was an act that was carried out by the Russians it was a covert targetted one against a double agent. |
|
By:
The 23 individuals are known to UK Govt, dusty. It's just debated whether or not they are "officially" spies. (Again, it's not like we'll ever know whether they are or not so, once again, we have to make do with a "yes they are" "no they're not" panto play out between Uk and Russia
) |

jomo I have no idea but wish to question these assumptions!! You are on the money there.
I know nothing and it is very confusing/misleading. But the vodka the chap brought is very nice Slurp!!! I am probably being led up the garden path here - one mate of mine said I could get lost in a phone box ho ho Back to the vodka and Cheltenham |

What I wondered when I first heard it was wondering whether the daughter had attempted to do it and done herself at the same time by mistake.
She's a Russian citizen and if he can be devious then why cant she? Also his son died at 43 and his wife also dead. This is the life by choice. |

They were British agents and enemies of Putins Russia
That's all you need to know |

Britain, and the world needs brave people like them

The moral to the story is ofc that no matter what those plying you with false hope say, they cant keep you safe.
Georgi Markov could attest to that fact...had he not been killed. |

moisik... Ha! Enjoy. And you're absolutely right to question assumptions. I'm stuck at home waiting for car to get serviced so have time to do what I can to extrapolate thoughts and theories in the great chit chat search for justice.
(Have already made my annual search in the attic for Lord Lucan and he's not there, so need something else to occupy me).dusty... interesting theory. I'm a bit doubtful whether a spy "retires" myself - all sorts of sh1t can lurk about for years I'd have thought, even after interrogation, spy swap etc. etc. Also quite a coincidence that the daughter came over on a flight just the day before. |

Yes it is a dangerous life , they were very brave

There seems to be an element of "mystery" surrounding the deaths of his brother, wife and son. It's once again going to be nothing more conjecture whatever we make of it at the present time, but if you were laying an #OddsOnThat for three members of a former spy's family to have died in these circumstances, and for that spy and his daughter now to be have been poisoned, what odds would you offer?

We've spent the past week blaming Russia. but one question no one is asking is how are the two who were poisoned doing? no pictures of them since the event happened. like are they on their death bed or what?
|

I see that George Galloway has asked the same question on twitter, Sontaran. You get a range of theories/answers on there.
It obvs isn't hospital policy to take some snaps of their patients and send to media/members of the public who want to see the evidence with their own eyes. And, if they're both unconscious, they aren't going to be in a position to ask for a photo to be taken like Litvinenko did. With a story like this, tho, it would probably be fair to wonder how a pic hasn't been leaked, or why there haven't been updates from the hospital. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/03/13/friends-yulia-skripal-say-doubt-still-alive-raise-concerns-british/ I'd personally stop short at one tweet I saw - "how do we even know they're in hospital?". Far too many people would have to be in on it/shut up for something like that to work imo. |

Arsenal going to Moscow!
Kwality! Not only is sport the best reality to there is. It is the best drama, it is the best romance, it is the best tragedy and now it is the best in current affairs and politics. This show is set to run and run! I just hope it is not the best disaster movie featuring The Gunners! |

Have we had any updates on the health of the Russian Father & daughter or the policeman ?
|
|
By:
No. The sheeps are busy debating BBC photoshopping Corbyn's pic and whether there is proof or whether the govt should even bother with the proof etc etc. Also is corbyn right in asking or proof? Is he funded by the russians? I think there are way more serious matters to consider before we start asking if someone was poisoned at all or if they are alive or dead.

It is a binary agent. Safe until combined. It is made from AGROCHEMICALS - this means anyone with certain skills can make it. To make it so very potent apparently it took years to perfect.
I understand it was 'undeclared' yet our ambassador and US personal was at the site where it was tested. I am not sure what all that means if it wasn't undeclared why were they able to see it??? I think the russians have fked up big time here. It really sounds as if they have been totally careless at worst and are hugely embarrased because someone or agency has acted independently and just want to deny deny deny. Even though there was not a large store of it (or was a large store of it) someone agency could have got some and even passed it on to others?? If Putin sanctioned it then it is different gravy and an act of war. May has said as much about it being Russia/putin or another agency, but is milking this politically before they have the evidence. The authorities don't even know how it got here - that is very frightening - think what a threat this is to this country. |
|
By:
sorry that should read

if you believe everything we,re told 14 Russians are possibly killed by all sorts of methods and go undectected, unconcerned by the uk government, but a toxic substance so deadly its a threat to us all ,fails to kill 2 people its directly used on, nothing adds up
|
|
By:
what I do not like is the action that May and her lot have jumped on this and reacted - it is a knee jerk -
It is fine to say - 'if russia/putin had sanctioned this we are going to do this this and this' but we haven't They have just plunged in and have gained great 'strongman' kudos out of it politially. Stupid. When they tie it all up they can trash Putin with it (if it was his sanctioning of the hit) |

I think Corbyn is absolutely right to question May. So called Intelligence has fouled up so many times I wouldn't trust them to teach me the Green Cross Code.

but we have at least an extra 400 trained fighters to take Putin on with!!! Some have experience with fighting russians!!

In a letter to The Times, Stephen Davies, a consultant at Salisbury NHS, has said that "no patients have experienced symptoms of nerve agents poisoning in Salisbury and there have only ever been three patients with significant poisoning [Skripal x2 + Sgt, presumably]."
OPCW turning up today to get some of the readies, so hopefully we're on our way to finding out one way or the other now. Was it BJ who said it could take up to two weeks? For that, do we get the full shoe-shine service ie. not just what it is, but where it was synthesised? On the other side of the fence - and I'm technically aftertiming here - but one of the reasons for the it-wasn't-Russia theory (and I think Putin himself has asked this) is why do this a couple of weeks before the Russian Pres. election? How is Putin's share of the vote shaping up? Could it be argued that Salisbury has done him no harm at all election-wise? Perhaps the scapegoat argument has helped him indeed? |
|
By:
whether there guilty or not the election theory must be the biggest red herring in the history of red herrings, and is now been trotted out as fact as a motive by the gullable media in this country with no questions asked, well I,ll ask a few,
this took place 7 days before the election an election he was always going to win by a landslide if they,d collapsed in the house they could have been there for days, weeks before been found the government didnt get really excited till the policemen was involved who was surely collateral damage of 14 other suspect deaths the uk didnt mention, investigate any of them for week,s,months or ever,so why did putin think this would get coverage in hr,s days another theory been put forward is to increase voter turnout, well in what the west call a **** election if putin wanted a high turn out he,d do what other countrys do and what has been considered in the uk,making voting compulsory to achieve, plan all this it would have been done a month ago not 6 days before the election, imo |

these weapons inspectors arnt up to much are they, they,ve got the stuff, its been indentified for them, yet it,ll be 2/3 weeks before they give an opinion ,yet unfound, undetected, unidentified took the uk government 48hrs to come to a conclusion

well ive just heard some expert saying the inspectors have to take it to the airport in specially designed transport,layere4d armoured cars, evertyone dressed in special suits etc, etc, yet people believe putin got someone to put it in someones case ,put it on a plane, mosey around salisburys pubs, cafes,fOR a few days etc.etc and treason may ,and head of the NHS SAID NO ONE IN SALISBURY WAS IN ANY DANGER AT ANYTIME, and now after 2 weeks we,re removing a car used to take the Russian from the airport,so how many people have driven, used this car potentially with a nerve agent in that can wipe 1000,s out in minutes, come on, on the scale of been told the truth kept up to date we,re on a score of about 10% or less, on every shot of these blokes in mr blobby costumes ,theres policemen stood about, sky presenters, joe public all within yards,
ive told you the new motto in life believe nothing and question everything we,re told because when their on board the opposition, media wont |

In fairness, 1st time, they have advised everyone in Salisbury to clean their phone with a wet wipe.

How long till we don't have to rely on our patriotism or Russian hate to know it was Putin? If May knew within 48 hours, and had the confidence to blame Russia immediately, why are the authorities still taking so long to have definite proof?
And if Boris and co know it was Novichok, wtf are they testing it for? |
|
By:
all the experts on here told us it was 2 liquids joined together but the usa reporting it was a powder in the cars ventilation system. liquid or powder not hard to answer when you,ve already apportioned blame
