I hope some of these forecasters haven't betting accounts.
So far(from F/C given 2 days)ago the eastern part of the M25 was supposed to have significant and disruptive snow with vehicles stranded for this mornngs rush hour, also loss of power and rural communities "isolated", the reality is the half centimetre that fell has well and truly melted. Quite staggering really, feed any ould sheete to the masses, one media outlet trying to outdo the other,no doubt off up a little mountain as we speak to get the "pictures". |

Greater Anglia trains have cancelled services tonight because of the weather that hasn't even happened.
Snow was gone by this morning, only lightly snowing now. |

The three words Abellio Greater Anglia are the most powerful argument one could make for renationalisation.

The way to preserve continuity of public services, it to stop paying people when they're not at work. Including the staff.
Their health would improve no end, absenteeism would be limited to a those who are really ill and they would easily brush aside stuff like inclement weather. |

By:
overslept this morning and woke to see there was no snow, very disappointing

I don't think anyone in the private sector takes a sick day if they find it too difficult to get to work, usually take one of their annual days holiday
So really that system works pretty well |
|
By:
of course that doesn't mean that they don't take sick days when they are not too badly
But they don't do that when it snows, and if they do they will be less likely to do it later There is a limit to how many sick days you can get away with when it snows |
|
By:
*private sector should read public sector
its the public sector who will just take a days holiday, that is fine |

I kinda sense a bit of a bad vibe, maybe tis the disappointment of no snow or just being totally duped at this stage, whatever, there will be a bit of snow alright.
My preparation is seemingly awry at this precise time,i'm looking at my candle, bar of fruit n nut, skis, parachute(impulse buy, didn't know what to expect) and the bottle of jameson, all redundant except possibly the latter. To get the thread back on track and induce a bit of harmony in the midst of this armaggedon, gonna give it a blast. I'll keep it short and only a verse as not blessed with the vocals. NO MORE HE,LL HEAR THE SEAGULL CRY O'ER THE MURMURING SHANNON TIDE, FOR HE FELL BENEATH A NORTHERN SKY BRAVE O'HANLON BY HIS SIDE, THEY HAVE GONE TO JOIN THE GALLANT BAND OF PLUNKETT,PEARSE AND TONE, A MARTYR FOR OLD IRELAND,SEAN SOUTH FROM GARRYOWEN. |

Oh fantastic. We get to hear the media bigging up "climate change", and we also get to hear how chaotic it all is and how it could be the end of days... because we're struggling to get the car off the drive.

My local will be full of White Van Man and his kids from 9am tomorrow morning! Happens every time it snows. At least that shows intelligence and the right attitude. Well done the men of Kent or is it the Kentish men?
