that's true mr. spock, its often safer when it snows
some of us have to go out in the rain and the snow , I still hope it snows` every winter in Britain I prefer to see the snow rather than cars

what a terrible country we live in if when it snows someone doesn't get paid
that shouldn't be allowed to be the case and we could all enjoy the snow

I have never in my life heard of any civilised country whereby if it snows you don't get paid

Haven't had such cold weather so late in February for donkeys.

In other news we voted to leave the EU.

Coincidence? I don't think so.

I think it was 1963 when it snowed constantly from January to march and people still were paid,
it didn't even stop the Beatles on their first tour of England
And of course the rest is history

....and whilst you may think its funny, the reality is contractors and self employed people get paid when then work and not when they dont.

It's the snow plough drivers I have the most empathy for.  How are they supposed to get to work?

I'll bet public sector workers can't wait for more time off through the weather conditions, especially the teachers.

Why some people get paid when they're absent from work and other don't has always puzzled me.

So much for the Labour movement and unions.

that's true Dr C, Its hard to describe how beautiful it is to wake up early in the morning and find there has been a fall of snow overnight

Sometimes I go for an early walk , past the houses and the hedges and the trees covered in snow, and I walk on looking down at the snow
its hard to find the words to describe how lovely it is

Blue skies and warm here in North Yorkshire today, Enviro Agency and Met Office mugs on 100k cant even get the forecast right, more easy goverment money to save, most would do their jobs for 25-30k a year.

UK expected to feel 'colder than Arctic Circle' with snow warnings in place
By:
Coachbuster
When: 25 Feb 18 15:12
the Arctic circle north of the Faroes doesn't really get that cold   ... it gets colder in southern Germany .
By:
xmoneyx
When: 25 Feb 18 15:46
artic circle currently - 15
By:
Coachbuster
When: 25 Feb 18 16:05
Glomfjord Norway  inside the Arctic circle is normally around 1c  this time of year  but sits currently at -9  .... that's very unusual .

Parts of Southern Europe get much colder averages than Glomfjord  ...

Arctic circle sub-headings are misused  ..any 'cold' we get from the north  is feeble  to say the least ,that's because it gets colder the further east or north east  across land mass ..we are too near the ocean .

Kent , Essex for a start is colder than Glasgow and Belfast in winter

If we get 4" of snow in Londinium the place literally comes to a standstill. Roads closed, trains in disarray, schools shut, panic buying at M &S and Waitrose etc. My road is a little side street and it never gets gritted, so that's me snookered if it happens.
