Guardian headline about inflation rise and pensioners

The BLOCK button is right next to the REPORT button at the bottom right of every one of my posts. Hilarious how certain users are addicted to pressing one yet find it impossible to press the other!

So as usual when talkmadder is challenged he gets posts deleted.

Gets posts deleted? Not guilty your honour. I hate it when lefty rants get deleted, it leaves my witty replies stranded in mid thread. I never even saw another post after my previous one, Dave. Was it one of yours? What did it say?

If anyone else saw it BTW let me know the gist of it please - leaving out any abusive language of course - I wouldn't want to get anyone in trouble!

I'll check back this evening.

Place your bets.

A) a hissy fit tantrum.
B) a rant.
C) a tirade of abuse.
D) all of the above.

The odds on D are quite short!

dave1357
and getting back to talkmadder's mother in law.  He refuses to answer a simple question

Why would anyone who you have been abusive to and called a liar respond to you?

where have I been abusive?  where have I called him a liar?  I simply said "when did she retire?"

The lefties can't help themselves.
I watched Sunday Politics Scotland with Gordon Brewer.
He had SNP MSP George Adam in the studio with Conservative MP Luke Graham in the London studio.
The discussion was on the possible 1p tax rise amongst other measures  in Scotland.
About a dozen times GA said a debate was needed, 4 times he called it mature debate.
LG in reply to one point said that the SNP need to be honest with the electorate and spell out their proposals.
LG replied but not before quipping A Tory MP and honesty, that's a new one on me.
Yes very mature from the SNP MSP.
As I started with they can't help themselves and seemingly feel the need to belittle/insult their opponents.

Daves responses on here follow a similar trend.

So that's a no then

The post has gone but I also read it as you calling him a liar, dave. Nowt wrong with being abusive per se, but denying it is a bit rum.

dave1357
btw I suspect talkmadder has invented his mother in law's situation, just have a rant about people on benefits.

In answer to your question Dave. where have I called him a liar?

Well I do indeed suspect he is lying about his mother in law for the reasons I set out in my 10.28 post.  And I may indeed have implied that again in the deleted post, but Talkmadder didn't see it, so it's irrelevant to akabula's "theory" as to why talkmadder didn't respond and in any case once again I just asked first "when did she retire?".

Don't think that one will stand up in court akabula.  It's a gambling forum and you should be able to work out that the odds of his m-i-l has a pension of exactly the amount required to exclude her from pension credit are very high indeed.  So it is a very reasonable suspicion to have.

Well I do indeed suspect he is lying about his mother in law for the reasons I set out in my 10.28 post.

I thought it was because of this.
dave1357
btw I suspect talkmadder has invented his mother in law's situation, just have a rant about people on benefits.

Been through the thread but cannot find Torques rant. Could you highlight it please.

So what do you suggest Dave? A freeze on pensions and anyone who has provided for a private pension excluded from the Government one or penalised for it with a reduced amount. Genuine qustion.

You denied calling him a liar and your response to this being pointed out as erm untrue is to try and justify it.

dave seems incable of admitting fault or apologising, reminds me of Thatcher.

akabula Suspecting something and definitively saying it are two different things and for the umpteenth time I firstly simply asked him when his m-i-l retired.  When he didn't respond I revealed my suspicions.  What do you think the chances are that with all the complexities of the pension system, his m-i-l gets exactly the amount that excludes her from a pension income top-up?

re his rant

The welfare system is broken, people are punished for working hard and playing it straight, whilst others are rewarded for being feckless, fraudulent or workshy.

bigmo the 3% increase is entirely justified and is only an issue because the appalling productivity in the country which means that wages are rising less than this.

I wouldn't call that a rant. All the truth and not a lie within his statement unlike some other posts.

akabula Suspecting something and definitively saying it are two different things

Laughable and quite pathetic Dave. You implied he was a liar.
As regards whats the odds someone is in that situation I don't know but what I do know is that some will and I have no reason to doubt what Torque says.

I don't deny implying he invented his m-i-l situation at all, but it is hardly abusive as you say in your  @ 3.47 - just pointing out a obvious conundrum.  As I said its a gambling forum and the relevant odds make it highly unlikely that his post is accurate.

So Dave accuses me of being a liar because the figure of £156 was TOO accurate?

Even by Dave's low standards that level of desperation is hilarious! I didn't have a clue how much the state pension was until my missus mentioned that her mum wasn't eligible for PC because she was just over the threshold. When I asked how much that was, she replied "£156, I think" hence my statement in my first post of "£156 I think but that might be a pound or two out."

It really is incredible how Dave never seems to tire of making a fool of himself in his sheer desperation to have a pop at me, it's absolutely shameless! And all the more laughable as it comes just a few days after claiming he ignored my posts and never enterered into conversation with me at all. What were all those questions about my MIL's age, Dave? Surely you weren't desperately trying to find some tiny error were you? "Aha, people born in 1944 should be getting £157.33 Torquemada. Got you!"

Everyone is laughing at you Dave. As if anyone would make anything up about something so mundane. Best you keep to your vow of ignoring me in future mate, or better yet use the BLOCK function. Blocking yourself would be a good move, on the basis of your recent form you're your own worst enemy!

Try to reign in your tantrums and not to get too abusive in your reply, Dave, I'd at least like to see it this time!

Most people would see an accurate figure as being an indicator of truth, but not old Dave! Oh, no, where I'm concerned that must mean I'm a liar. Imagine if I'd got the wrong number!

The basis state pension isn't £156.

Try to get all your thoughts together before you post.  Serial posts make you seem like a wannabe lfc1971

Shouldn't you be scaffolding?

Is that it, Dave? No apology after getting it so wrong? Pathetic! You're like the gift that just keeps giving!

Loving it that you're all obsessed about my job. Or perhaps I'm not a scaffolder now? Is that what you're implying, Dave?

I've just had a full English breakfast as well...... or have I, Dave?

Nice to see we're having yet another conversation again, though! I can only think that must have been another Dave a few days ago - he seemed so sure he never conversed with me!

Does dave think scaffolding is an unworthy job?

He's just obsessed with trolling me, Saddo. Anxious and Scandinavian Haven were the same - whenever I post within what they consider should be working hours for a scaffolder in they'll all chirp with "shouldn't you be working?" or "shouldn't you be up a scaffold?" etc.

They're completely obsessed with me mate, and desperately try to catch me out on the most mundane of things to the point they're now seemingly paranoid about everything! It can't be true I'm a scaffolder, it can't be true my mum in law gets £156 pension, it can't be true I'm their puppet master and they're on my string!

It never ends well for them!

Have a read through Dave's input on this thread, it's absolutely priceless. I don't know what he does for a living but he'd be perfect for the council, the man has no equal when it comes to digging holes for himself!

Lunch break talk , Scouse tories on time surely ?

Talkmadder almost never makes a spelling or grammar mistake.  That simply doesn't correlate with a manual labour occupation, particularly a hard and dangerous one.

Seen some really daft posts on here but that's up with the best of them. What a view to have Dave. Incredible.

Hey aka, I'm off out, have a good evening. .

Thanx Foxy and you.

It's not a "view".  It's a fact.

I might have some sympathy for that view if talkmadder spent much time in the horse-racing forum and I also rather doubt he would name himself after a class 5 handicapper....

It's not a "view".  It's a fact.

I was referring to the inference that your post quite clearly makes ie that you think people who do manual jobs are thick.

That must be what you think, because it isn't what I wrote or think and couldn't possibly be construed from that statement.

You may not be a pompous snob tbf dave, but you do a very fine impression of one.

Talkmadder almost never makes a spelling or grammar mistake.  That simply doesn't correlate with a manual labour occupation, particularly a hard and dangerous one.

So someone who does manual labour shouldn't be able to spell or structure a post correctly, is that right?

We are still Dealing with brutal Seethers Torque, any opportunity to Shout down anyone not left of the line is quickly taken .. 23 June 2016 will live with them forever

lol you are assigning exactly the opposite meaning to that statement.  It doesn't say anything about people who do manual labour it only says something about people who are extremely accurate with spelling and grammar.  And the intersection between those people and people who have manual labour as a job will be very small.  This doesn't say anything about intelligence.

It should be fairly obvious that people who apply themselves in the early stages of education ie spelling and grammar and take pride in being accurate in those areas are likely to continue that through their education.  That is likely to lead to qualifications and to opportunities in professional and skilled careers.  None of that says anything about intelligence or lack of it.  That only really becomes a factor at the extremes.  Just about all of us are in average intelligence band, that no one can really accurately assess.

to akabula, casemoney interjected with a standard trolling comment

and appalling grammar

Ur blocked for Posting Shyte ,HTH ..

not really

*posting shyte

Irrelevant ,as spelling is forced incorrect

You say more likely which of course isn't will.
Not sure why you feel the need to doubt Torque yet again.
I'm sure if he was going to lie about his employment he's have followed Del Boys lead and claimed to be a pilot.

It's an anonymous internet forum.  It's full of people pretending things.

Speaking from experience?

Gonna be some forum if we start doubting everyone and call them liars.

Also has its share of pretentious people, dave.

And self righteous seethers

It sure has Saddo. I was just saying that to my butler the other day.

Absolute quality, this just gets better by the hour!

Just because I'm a scaffolder it's somehow very suspicious that I'm also able to spell? What a classic post from Dave yet again! We do have schools in Liverpool you know, Dave. The cleverest bloke I know is Saveloy Pete and he works in a chippy!

On the subject of my username (which seems to agitate a few on here so much) the reason for its selection is not because I'm a fan of some genocidal priest from hundreds of years ago, or an homage to any racehorse (although that was an excellent guess). I wanted to be Cardinal Biggles from a Monty Python sketch but didn't like the look without a space. This led me to Google some similar names and Torquemada took my eye - I had no idea who he was before Betfair.

always be wary of people who laugh and smile to much

So Dave implies I'm lying about my mum in law's (not particularly unusual) pension because the figures were too accurate, implies I'm lying about my (not particularly unusual) job because my spelling is too good, and implies I'm a fan of a murderer because of my (not particularly unusual) forum username! Absolute quality.

I'll strike you a deal, Dave. I won't charge you rent for living in my pocket if you don't charge me for living in your head.

TOO much you mean, Anxious. You obviously wouldn't cut it as a scaffolder, mate!

It's a right wing thing anxious, no chips on our shoulders and paid our way for all our life.

Freudian slip talkie , is that all that worries you west highland money money and more of it , every man for himself and all that garbage

I must say that the behaviour on this thread (lying accusations aside) has been pretty fair compared to usual standards. All very jovial and good humoured, well done everyone!

Well it is important that people like me pay taxes so that people can get benefits.
And btw even in retirement I'm still having to fork out a few thousand each year from my pensions that I paid for albeit my employer contributed to my private pension.

Yes i agree about taxes that the NHS /SOCIAL CARE can keep some dignity and that those in need can apply for Social Security , as for your private pensions yes if you have paid in you should get what they promised you , but come on the whole financial system is bent we all know that.

At one time people looked to family when in trouble now they look to the government.
No more evident than in old people needing care. My mother was in that situation but my sister stepped up.
Can remember loads of families like that when I was young.
Not saying that I'm disagreeing with you but a major factor is the break downs within family units.

I agree the family breakdown is a massive problem , i do know family and friends that have had problems in very difficult situations regarding care for older and vulnerable relatives, the system as it is at the moment is in crisis for social care a better way needs to be found irrespective of political opinion

akabula you got tax relief on your pension contributions and tax relief on the growth on the fund.  So its reasonable for you to pay tax on the benefits, don't you think?

when families were bigger there was more chance of having a kid who could step in when requirde, or an in law.

if kids are just about managing then putting their job at risk to care for an elderly relative often leads to financial problems for them

there has to be a safety net, or else somewhere down the line the problems will be greater.

akabula I must have missed your post criticizing lfc1971 encouraging the self employed to avoid paying their tax. I'm sure if one of the more moderate posters on here had posted that you would have joined the rest of the right wing mob on here condemning them.

Been through the thread and cannot see that post.
Good though that you are paying attention.
please let me know if anything else I don't do upsets you.

Just past halfway on first page.

Nothing showing. Been through all 3 pages twice.

Sorry my copy and paste doesn't seem to be working and it is about 25 comments down on the 1st page.

Anyways what makes you so sure I read his post.
I tend not to read all posts if I come onto a thread late.
But I'm puzzled as to how it has upset you that I didn't respond to it.
I don't respond to every post even if I have read it.

If you are self employed the amount of tax you pay is voluntary , that is a very good thing,
Don't pay it if possible.

I just noticed that dave1357 having a dig at one of the nastier posters on here seemed to bother you and your right wing brethren on here far more than lfc1971 advising the self employed not to pay their tax. Thanks for pasting Donny Osmond.

I thought he was referring to NI on that post.

How is Torque (who is a m8 on here) one of the nastier posters.
Fife I don't know what your problem is but tbh I don't give a feck.
People like you seem incapable of debate without getting personal.
Massive chip on your shoulder?
I butted in with Dave because he also seems incapable of discussing anything without having a go at anyone who has a different point of view to him.

to be fai if we passed comment on lfc's posts we might not get anything else done

and who could argue with that

to be fair

akabula having read it again I think you may be right and I may have misread it although the rest of my comments stand

No offence meant to lfc but I sometimes give his posts a miss especially if he's posted 6 or 7 together.
I did read that post but given the subject was pensions I thought he was referring to NI contributions.

Fife thank you, as for the rest of your comments standing I genuinely couldn't give a feck.
I'm sure you are of a similar mind but I would add that if it bothers you that much why not just block me.

"Fife thank you, as for the rest of your comments standing I genuinely couldn't give a feck!

I was just pointing out the double standards among the more rabid posters on here of which you have proved yourself worthy.

Grow up.

It's an anonymous GAMBLING forum not the fecking United Nations, bet you're a hoot down the pub.

How, as you were wrong, does it prove the double standards of anyone.
Think it through you are accusing people of not responding correctly to something that wasn't actually said.

Catch you other normal guys later,.

Cheers Foxy, I'm off out as well.
I need fresh air.

"Please let me know if anything else I don't do upsets you."

Very good!
