The Football Association should conduct "a comprehensive and independent review" into Eniola Aluko's claims against England boss Mark Sampson, says anti-racism campaign group Kick It Out.
The footballer, 30, has accused Sampson of "bullying and discrimination".
Sampson, 34, has been cleared of wrongdoing by two investigations and vehemently denies Aluko's claims.
But details given by Aluko in a BBC interview on Monday "throw new light on the allegations", Kick It Out said.
The Chelsea Ladies player alleges Sampson made a "racist comment" about her family in Nigeria being infected with the Ebola virus. Sampson vehemently denies saying this.
The FA said the allegation arose in informal correspondence and was not included in Aluko's subsequent complaint, or it would have been investigated.
A three-month independent investigation by barrister Katharine Newton did not uphold any of the complaints and cleared Sampson and the FA of any wrongdoing.
Aluko, however, has claimed the investigation and a previous FA inquiry were "flawed".
The FA denies this and says Aluko, who has played 102 times for England, declined to respond to the Newton investigation.
She has not been picked by Sampson since making allegations against him as part of an FA cultural review into England management.
The FA has insisted the timing was purely coincidental as the review was confidential and anonymous.
But Aluko claims she suffered "victimisation as a result of me reporting discrimination".
"The situation regarding this is now one of utter confusion with claims and counter-claims," Kick it Out said, pointing out Aluko's comments were contrary to what the FA was saying.
"Kick It Out urges the FA to undertake a comprehensive and independent review of the processes involved in the original complaint made by Aluko up to the final point of the independent investigation by Katharine Newton QC.
"This is so they can take on board any lessons learned, to remedy any deficiencies identified and to ensure it has an operational culture that treats any individual, whatever their background, equally, fairly and with dignity and respect.
"The FA must ensure a situation like this will never happen again in order to build trust, confidence and credibility."

I think Ms Aluko needs to be very very careful.
She is a trained lawyer, so presumably knows what is and isn't libellous. However, to go public with accusations about Mark Sampson, that have already been addressed by an FA and then an independent enquiry, seems stupid. Furthermore, she refused to take part in said enquiries and did not bring these accusations to the attention of these enquiries. She admits her reaction was to laugh at the 'Ebola' retort that Sampson purportedly made (he denies it) - which was surely the reaction it was intended to provoke! It is not a fact that because something happens subsequently it happened consequently, so she appears to be skating on thin ice, linking her dropping from the England team to a supposed racist slur. |

Often the case lately that when a player is dropped or a cyclist not selcted for the Olympic team then accusations fly.
I like listening to Aluko in the media but she's done herself no favours here. People are so quick to use the bullying and racist words. Why be so sensitive?? If she did indeed get £80k 'hush money' then that is a disgrace. |

there were accusations also regarding cautions on the football pitch, and in relation to police cautions.
but it is important to know what was said exactly, people can become confused and take offence at something said innocently. it might be essential for people at some point to record everything that is said to protect themselves. |

The FA has admitted the mixed-race player was not spoken to during the two investigations it commissioned. It says it has not investigated the alleged Ebola remark, described as a “racist joke” in a letter from the PFA to the governing body, because there was no formal allegation.

Sampson is a bit of a tool, and I quite believe that he made some ignorant remarks. However, I don't see what Aluko is trying to achieve. 80 grand is a lot of money to be paid, just because someone made a stupid joke. She should be thankful that she got that much. She has received a fair amount of money for kicking a ball about for over a decade, and now she wants more. If she is a qualified lawyer then her earning potential should be better than most. She should concentrate on making a career out of that. Although her judgement in this matter suggests that she might not be very well equipped for a career in Law. Incidentally, how long does she believe that an international football career should be. After 11 years, I would have thought that her playing days would be coming to an end anyway. Despite her own obvious sense of entitlement.

I heard her interview this morning on Radio 5, and it seemed very half-hearted, as though she herself wasn't convinced he had done anything wrong.
The fact that there has already been a 3 month enquiry, seems to suggest that she has been "persuaded" to keep it going by the "kick it out" hierarchy, and the Beeb are happy to go along with it. |

If he did make the remark it surely isn't racist anyway.
He was talking about an appalling disease that was, to my recollection, rife at the time in Nigeria and white people were getting it as well. If a white woman had relations in nigeria he would have said it anyway. It was probably a stupid joke and the fact that she confirmed that she laughed at the time, and it was about three years ago, confirms it. Even if he was serious then maybe he was concerned for her health and the health of the team as it is highly contagious. |

There should be an investigation into why she was paid £80k when it was concluded from the independent investigation which took place that Sampson had done nothing wrong.

The point is why was she paid 80 Large and why is the person who paid her still in the job?
Secondly why didn't the Barrister interview her or the " mixed race midfielder " at the centre of the allegation? So who paid the Barrister? Why was she paid for not doing a thorough job and why is the person who paid her at the FA still employed by them? It's a bit like when foot and mouth was rampant here and farmers etc had to wash their boots to stop the spread of the disease. If I went to Nigeria and someone there said 'don't bring f&m here' would that be racist?? I just can't see it. It's a geographically apt comment. We know 'racially profiling' someone is now deemed to be racist which again makes no sense. The Japs are great at making electrical goods, the French produce amazing wine, the English are obese, Germans methodical, Americans loud etc etc... |
