Everything's accelerated now, general election before year-end. Corbyn will not win.

Well the Tories will just have to pander to them for 5 years then won't they. When the gamble doesn't pay off as planned you must expect a price to pay, and giving the DUP their head is what the Tories must now do. You don't, however, go on tilt and call another election.

Another election this year would be pointless, the result would likely be almost exactly the same, albeit with a massively reduced turnout because everyone is fed up with politicians and the constant merrygoround.

Boris gets called a buffoon by some, but he is actually very intelligent AND very popular, you don't win mayoral elections in London on the Tory ticket without appealing to a wide range of the electorate. He wouldn't be my choice as PM however for the simple reason that the lefty mainstream media would constantly ridicule him whether warranted or not and the greatest office of state would become a sideshow.

The lefty mainstream dear me Crazy

The only way Corbyn wins is if an early election is called and Theresa May contests it a Tory leader. Frankly, if the Conservatives are stupid enough to do that, then they would deserve to lose. I still wouldn't bet on it though! Laugh

I can't think of a smarter politician than Boris. Part Turkish - what could the left have against him?

I will eat your fuzzy bits.

Talk seriously do you think Bulingdon Boris would beat Jeremy , i doubt it very much Boris might get the crowd going but he is just as liable to score 2 quick own goals Laugh

I'm intrigued why you think it is acceptable to discriminate against somebody because of their background or upbringing. Bullingdon Boris? If anyone labelled a Labour politician as Tenament Tony you would be the first to call foul. Also, Corbyn is hardly a man of the people on that score either.

The only tory who would cause Labour a big problem presently would be Ruth Davidson , and she i would say is truly a One Nation Tory

Plus, if you would care to read my post I made it quite clear that Boris would not be my choice for PM. He could certainly get the better of Corbyn in any debate, however, for the simple reason that Johnson is far more intelligent.

Boris would dismantle Jeremy, kindly. Jeremy is a monstrously destructive politician.

Hey, sooner or later. Or the other way?

Ruth Davidson isn't a Tory MP is she? She's an MSP as I understood it, didn't stand in the last GE.

May will be gone before the next GE which rules out Davidson as party leader because she cannot become PM. You can lay that 10-1 with confidence. Whatever happens at least one other person will be leader before Ruth.

If it "next PM" market you can lay that as well. The same thing applies - at least one other person must be PM before Ruth. The only way for Ruth Davidson to be the next PM is for Theresa May to hang on all the way to the next GE and then suddenly resign just before the vote - none of which is remotely plausible.

Jeremy at 3-1 Cool
