Youngsters will follow anything with bells and whistles, they are essentially stupid. Harsh but true, we were all young and stupid once upon a time. Most of us grow out of it, of course, and see sense. Labour shamelessly exploit this fact by promising the youth everything with no idea how to actually pay for it.
The voting age should be 30... unless you own a house. |
By:
Talkmadder welcome back , must have been dreadful for you Chairman May losing her majority and authority , hope very much all the scaffolding is safe
By:
To be fair, my brother and I agreed we would vote for Jeremy if he promised to double pensions. Since he promised the young voters to forgive £20-30k of student debt, they would have to be deranged not to vote for him. That a pound would be worth 0.0000000001 of a Zimbabwean dollar is a matter for the future. Hey, we're all in the present, right?

By:
Typical old at$e attitude. Kids of today are far smarter than you. Move over dinosaur you've had your day.
By:
The truth is that older people have sense forced upon them, they gain wisdom the hard way. Youngsters would vote for Justin Bieber to be prime minister given half a chance, a free house for everyone and a two-day working week. Don't worry about who's going to pay for it, the money fairy will take care of that.
By:
12 million plays 12 and half milion the game as changed , the good people of Liverpool and Manchester feel the hope
By:
If the kids of today are so much smarter than me, how come so many of them are skint, living with their parents and seem to be so angry all the time. If I had half the brains you attribute to them I'd be a bit more cheerful with my lot.
By:
Anxious, ask middle-aged Poles, Czechs, Hungarians, Baltics, East Germans, Romanians, Bulgarians etc ... what they think of Jeremy's policies And don't say it'll be different this time.
By:
Talkmadder?
Tut, tut! And there was you criticising somebody else for name-calling a few posts back, Anxious. Predictable as ever, all you have to offer are insults and hypocrisy. |
By:
The ones who are skint are either unemployed or on zero hours contracts and the ones living with their parents are unable to afford their own home. I don't detect that much anger from them , it's all in your paranoid mind. We, the older generation, have let them down by allowing the tory scum to neutralise the unions and let the rich get richer and the banks run riot.
By:
Well said Crystal , i think some people have been living in Caves
By:
I'm not paranoid. I'm not that old either. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm younger than most on this thread.
By:
So your older than the young but younger than the old, would that be middle aged.
By:
Unemployed? Get a job.
Don't like your zero hours job? Get a better one. Skint? Work harder. |
By:
Depends what you call middle aged? I'm 30. Old enough to be married with three kids, hold down two jobs and own my home. Young enough to still go clubbing now and again and remember what it's like to be 18.
By:
The over/under 30s mostly voted for Jeremy talkie , the people have spoken accept democracy
By:
I have accepted democracy, it's those claiming Labour won that appear to have a problem with it.
By:
I think it was more of a draw dont you , come on now lets be serious here
By:
Well, no, it wasn't a draw. It was 318 seats to the Tories and 262 to Labour. If it was a draw, Corbyn would be PM now and last time I looked he ain't, unless he's taken to wearing frocks and walking funny.
By:
So nothing has changed is that what you are saying
By:
Nobody is claiming Labour won but it's clear that the Tories have lost all credibility. They have abandoned their election manifesto and haven't got a clue how Brexit should progress. May is a disaster and there doesn't appear to be a suitable better candidate ( please don't say Boris the Buffoon). The momentum is with Labour and if there is an early election they will coast it. People who say "who's going to pay for the Labour manifesto" - we are, the tax payers. We are a rich country who spend too much on arms and not enough on people.
By:
The fifth largest economy on the planet apparently
By:
No, of course not. Lots of things have changed. Theresa May made a huge mistake calling the election, and then compounded it with an even more misguided manifesto. She will pay for her many failings with her job, of course, but not just yet.
But here's the rub, Labour still lost their third election in a row and five years is a long time in politics. |
By:
To be honest, haven't read all of below.
And have just forgotten why I'm typing stuff. No, gone. Better luck next time. |
By:
In your opinion, when did Britain last elect a socialist government?
By:
You can't hide your lying eyes.
By:
Do you really believe that this government will last 5 years , im sorry this will not happen the Prime Minister has lot moral authority , the tories will hardly get anything through parliament , the next few years will be dominated by Brexit and Austerity.
By:
I'll have you voting Labour Torq but it will have to wait cos I'm off to bed. Nice torqueing to you.
By:
janet street porter
By:
i had anx down as wolfie smith but he was a young tory in that'll be the day
By:
We probably have never had a true Socialist government, 1945 was probably the nearest the nearest , the left in this country have been reformist at best , but give me a Labour government anytime over the tories, even Blair was better than the tories
By:
Theresa May won't last five years, but I think the government will fare better. I can't see them making the same mistake of calling another early election again, can you? Corbyn and McDonnell will be well into their 70s by then by the way, and the youngsters are a fickle lot.
By:
Talk i would think 2 years tops this mob will last , remember the DUP dont like Jeremy but they are quite left-wing on issues such as Austerity , their electorate in NI is very much working class.
