Mr dan- should be available in the UK. If you have 10 grand you can have it done in Switzerland. If you can't afford that, join a Muslim march of Rage, wearing a yellow star badge, holding the flag of Israel and shout "Shalom, the 72 virgins have already lost they maidenhead and pork is god". It won't take long.

Did say dignified way and hopefully humane.........but thanks for the suggestions
why should I have to travel to Switzerland? It is a serious question, it should be my choice if given a diagnosis where there is no chance of getting better, don't fancy sitting in my own sh1t.........it's bad enough when I f@rt ![]() |

There's a massive hospital not far from me, way taller than a standard high rise.
I've often wondered why patients don't just open a window and jump. |

too painful mate .. peoples plan ahead .. not stupids .. it's not an impulisve act!

In the good old days, when you were in hospital and past any semblance of a decent life, the doctors would give you a 'Brompton Cocktail' injection - morphine/heroin/LSD etc and you would leave in a blaze of glory. That fker Harold Shipman put an end to all that - his biggest crime wasn't the 300-400 he personally knocked off - it was condemning millions of the wretched elderly to days/weeks/months of unnecessary suffering because he put the fear of the legal system into anyone thinking of hastening the inevitable for reasons of compassion.

Agree it should be a matter of choice, I could think of nothing worse than not being able to care of myself. My late wife converted to Catholicism so for her it would of been a sin, I do have to say though due to her faith she never said "Why me"
|
|
By:
I,d be for it too but can understand why its difficult to allow tbh.
Imagine a nasty Nick persuading poor old Dot she shouldnt be so selfish to get his hands on her house. It would have to be in terminal cases only and signed off by the local GP, the hospital specialist and a state approved outside specialist in whatever illness is afflicting the patient. |

By:
I know they always spout the old b0ll0x about the venerable being talked into it. And when it goes to court there's always someone in a wheelchair saying people want to bump off the disabled..........total cr@p
|
|
By:
It would happen Dan , plenty of uncroupilous out there.
If its a genuine case 3 approvals from the local GP and 2 specialists shouldnt be a problem. |

By:
Oh well dead now or a year going to be the same result
![]() |
|
By:
True but if i was offered that choice above i know which i.d pick now.
In 6 months time i might pick the opposite depending on circumstances. But thats the thing , it should be a few months approval time with the above safeguards. But i agree the option should be there. |

My dad died from alzhimers ,
I watched him sitting in nappys in a tracksuit for the last 9 or so months of his life. Its funny but the nappys i could live with but the tracksuit destroyed me as he was always a well dressed man , slacks and shirt outside of work and suit going out. He was in a home and i accepted their reasons for tracksuits after a debate but to see him in one broke my heart. My point is when he had it mild he probably would have wanted to do do it but as we still had him maybe 50% of the time we wouldnt have agreed as a family . By the time we might have accepted it he was gone feral and wouldnt or couldnt agree to it. Its a very complex issue. Theres a lot to be said for a massive heart attack that takes it out of everyones hands. ![]() |

By having him 50% of the time i mean mentally.
