How about a pipe in all flats that if it gets burnt melts and lets the water flood the flat. A weak spot in the pipes. a natural sprinkler.

The more I read about the regulations regarding the material used, the more it seems that the muddying of the waters has begun and the less likely anyone will be held responsible.
However, a panel of fire safety experts speaking at this week's FIREX exhibition in London said it is impossible to say whether the cladding is banned or not. I've never heard anything so ridiculous, peoples lives are in these experts hands. "It's down to the individual designer's specifier and or specialist installer - there is no straight answer." Passing the buck already? There are stringent regulations set down by the coucil in the buildings contracts for a start, they are responsible for specifying the correct materials that meet regulations, the residents were told it would be fire retardant, the planners then changed the material without informing them. The installer can't just use any material they see fit. It's going to be a lessons will be learnt outcome 1.01. |

searching the White City tower block
Do any of these People actually Know where White City is ?? It is nowhere near Grenfell Tower |
|
By:
yeah, white city is different borough and different postcode, probably just looked at a map and gone with nearest largest text.
|
|
By:
i must admit thinking White city myself, only because the maps had me believing that - there's a message there = don't read all you believe .
It's also no where near Chelsea or Kens lol . Is it Holland Park ? Notting Hill ? Latimer ? Acton ? i'm as confused as the next man . |
|
By:
White City is the other side of the road! Well sort of, the Westfield side. Ladbroke Grove falls under K&C. It is the grubbier part of the Borough. Notting Hill was also regarded as grubby prior to the Huge Grant film. Ladbroke Grove is still expensive. The Holland Park side is still des res. There was a programme on a few months ago highlighting the divide in the street where the more affluent and less affluent lived. Still a nice part of London for me although I have to say I tend to frequent the more affluent end because of geography.

they used the napalm cladding in the end. they signed off on fire retardant.
but installed retarded fire bomb variety. they used polystyrene panels in my flat? i'm pretty sure that stuff burns well. then they had a cavity they filled with polystyrene pellets? there are still air voids as the rain causes problems with a neighbors flat. basically the entire design is shoddy in these quick build module houses. they were built in the sixties as a quick short term solution of replacing slums. they should be phased out. |

By:
why do they still say 79 dead when the locals know its a much higher total, why is it being downplayed? answers on a postcard.

The Home Office and police have made a promise of amnesty to illegal migrants who resided in the Grenfell Tower if they come forward to police. Many residents may also be given luxury flats – whilst 7,000 UK veterans remain homeless.
The pledge of amnesty was made by the Home Office this week as many have expressed concern that illegal migrants living in the tower block may be afraid to come forward to authorities fearing potential deportation. A Home Office spokesman said: “We will not use this tragic incident as a reason to carry out immigration checks on those involved and those providing information,” The Times reports. |

Todays Londoners love their diversity so this is great news for those who have paid upwards of 2 million for a place in that development, can get up close and personal now. Local authority tenants involved in any future fires (happens weekly) will rightly ask "where's mine" anything else would be discriminatory. |
|
By:
confirmed the fire was started due to a faulty Hotpoint fridge freezer
|
|
By:
I predict a fair bit of sub-letting will be going on.
