Back in the day I used to stand in the North stand at Stamford Bridge, there was one male toilet which had urinals only. By half time the p1ss would overflow and run down the terrace which was pretty bog standard( no pun intended) at the time. After the Hillsboro disaster look how football stadiums in this country have been transformed. Hopefully although not much consolation for the family and friends of the victims the same outcome will be achieved for those living in high rise buildings.

Odd why the register of known residents hasn't been released.

No way will it be definitive but it's a start.

seems like from the beginning the word has gone out not to mention numbers. 120 dwellings - about 150 accounted for including the dead - gonna be a lot more dead

They showed tests on cladding being burned in a firehouse training compound.
But what they did not do was increase the wind force that whips round these tower blocks. The force of 50-60 mile winds is a real factor.

I live three up and sometimes my windows feel like they are coming in, the winds can really buffet them. Oxygen feeds fires. Strong winds are a big factor.

No one knows who was in there. Suggestions of 5-8 per flat in some cases.

immigrant flats, in my town it's all ex soviet citizens. Poland, Bulgaria etc.

It's bad that the councils cluster people into ghettos. Can't they spread people about.

Cry

I think you'll be proved right.

Suggestions that there are very few people who escaped. The same people are being interviewed by media over and over again. Most of the donations have gone to waste cos there are so few survivors.

surely best being up front now and facing up to the flak than trying to suppress a much higher death total which will inevitably be revealed later

The reason the government struggles with paying out for anything after receiving income tax V.A.T and indirect
taxes is basically because the economy is not growing much in any particular economic area at the moment , a lot of growth and
expansion in the past was usually due to an invention or change that spread globally e.g. Steam Rail, industrialization
in a word .That expansion grew at a radical pace that took a lot of the population by surprise and income taxes grew
along with this economic expansion. When the capitalist system took hold and cemented it's place in our dreams everyone thought
they could emulate the people of the past and become rich. The game worked for a while but in the process of attempting to win
the game the rules favoured the rich more and more as they grabbed a larger slice of the pie ...to be continued ...Laugh

The council were meeting with the companies allegedly. Hours after the fire.  Yet there was a disaster occurring.  Lammy is right to demand all paperwork on this should be made safe.  They are desperately trying to cover their backs.
No one seems to be treating this as an emergency.

Where did you hear that Moises?

If that is true I think I shouldn't say anything else!

Dr Crippen
On the news Theresa May had to practically run to her car after this:
She was called a ‘coward’ and a ‘murderer’ by angry activists, who yelled ‘shame’ as she was driven away from St Clements church near the Latimer Road tragedy.

Owen Jones tweeted the address of the church telling his followers that May was there and inviting them to say 'hello'.

Lots of people did escape as per reports of the rush down the stairwell. With Ramadan going off a register of the listed tenants isn't really going to help because some would have either have not been there or been their with non-listed friends and relatives. The BBC are confident and the 70 figure they keep banging on about...i think will be around this amount. Still a sickening death toll mind. 200-300 i would say is way off the mark that would make it beyond unprecedented.

The public are being deliberately misinformed.

At the very start we were given a figure of confirmed deaths but were told to expect the deaths to run into 3 figures.
How is that being deliberately misinformed Facts?
Nobody knows how many people were in the flats and given the ferocity of the blaze and the precarious state of the building we might never know the real numbers.
Feck all to do with misleading people. Shameful how you and a few others are using this for your sick agendas.

THe entire thing didn't burn down, it cut across at an angle and surprisingly AFAIK up to the 11/12th floor on one side are ok, and people in mid sections had far more chance to get out, so simply takng the total flats and multiplying it out isn't a reasonable estimate.

BBC coverage on this is still imho ridiculous. I didn't catch C4 news today, was it still trying to stir up civil unrest and demonise May?

They all behave as though Theresa May went thru all the bidding process and signed everything off herself. I know they want to boot the wretched woman while she is down on the floor, but using this incident to do so says plenty about them.
