Forgot to say, this isn't for me (I'm strictly mp3 player and vinyls), its for the teenager so streaming is the only way to listen to music, apparently
So, I had a look a those links. most of those alternatives (like Google) are paid subscriptions (£10 or more per month). Others are crappy radio services or services full of cover versions not originals.
Guess there's nothing better than Spotify then, as far as streaming goes.

Deezer is what you are looking for, ad supported about 75 million songs vs 300 million Spotify..still plenty.
Considering we used to pay £12.99 for an album back in the days before the digital era £9.99 is nothing at all!

Isn't Spotify free but with a few ads? £10 a month is cheap though. Why do people think that musicians shouldn't be paid? No-body else will work for nothing.

I happily pay the £10 fee for Spotify Premium, simply for no ads and better sound quality. I don't store, I simply play on request from my desktop to my Hi-Fi.
Not sure this is up to date but here is an advert.........
