I was wondering yesterday, has an afghan or a taliban member ever attacked Britain?

We don't care about that, it is the duty of any civilised country, if they have the courage and ability to destroy these evil ideologies

Britain had the courage to destroy that evil regime also, without being asked .

why did you ask that question detraveller? I don't think I would trust someone prepared to turn their back and let evil prevail

If that's you detraveller I don't see any need to answer the question
sometimes the question is more important than the answer

Because the thought came to my mind, what did the afghans ever do to Britain that they had to invade them? I haven't much knowledge of british history which is why i ask. I could be wrong.

you see it's the question, and why did you ask it. That is the thing.

I had a teacher at school who used to ask daily 'Who did not complete his homework today?' And there was a kid who always said 'Miss, I did it'(even though she asked who did NOT)

The teacher, very patient as she was, had to give up and tell the class to listen to the question. I asked who did not, I didn't ask who did the homework.

You lfc are that kid. I asked a question. I'm wondering if the answer to my question is NO. And you are just beating about the bush because you just want to say something and not keep quiet?

detraveller, my answer was very clear. Nazi Germany did not do anything to Britain.
We declared war on Nazi Germany.
Now when you understand my answer you will see that it answers your question.

now if everyone in the class was to say to the teacher that they had done the homework
I should imagine that would answer her question and she would be very pleased

I think it is nice to listen to the kid who did her homework rather than thise who didn't
In which catageory were you detraveller?

First Anglo-Afghan War    1839-1842 Military dead    5062.

Second Anglo-Afghan War    1878-1880 Military dead    1057    all massacred in Helmand except I escapee A doctor I believe.

2001-present (Oct 2015) 456.

Accounts vary because only the victors write history.............

Last lines from The Rudyard Kipling poem....

The Young British Soldier 1892.

When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains
An' go to your Gawd like a soldier.
Go, go, go like a soldier,
Go, go, go like a soldier,
Go, go, go like a soldier,
So-oldier of the Queen.

Being taken prisoner in Afganistan, has never been an option historically.

Britain was the most powerful country in the word for 400 years,
It was Britain that ruled half the world, be thankful.

Do German schoolchildren gives thanks every morning at assembly for the courage and bravery of the British
armed forces in delivering them from an evil regime.. and then handing their country back to them ?
they should do , who could deny that ?

Of course when the British forces conquered Germany they didn't insist on German schools doing that.
That's not the British way, they can be thankful for that also.

Thanks boxing for not taking the easy casual anti British sentiment that is the norm in many parts of Britain and for thinking about these things in a kind and independent way of thinking.

I think lfc knows where i am from. I could bet what your response would be if i said Birmingham, but my lack of English skills and your secretive way of saying confuses me. Anyhow, im from Germany and I can also guess what your response is going to be to that, so spare yourself the typing.

But for anyone else who is not offended at my very anti British question, i float the question again:

"I was wondering yesterday, has an afghan or a taliban member ever attacked Britain? "
