they are disgracing themselves here imo

Burton is a very angry man. Called me a s***head on the football forum after I made a light hearted joke, I think he needs some kind of therapy, anger management maybe, or sentenced to a week cleaning a Mosque, Muslims on the whole are very friendly people.

SOURCE??  for the last statement 'muslims on the whole are very friendly people'

All of this crowing from Brexitears when in the end, it's going to be a soft Brexit which is ALMOST like never leaving, no more MEP's but just as much money going to Brussels and just as many people coming in.

lol.

No chance on earth that just as many would come in, political suicide for whoever sanctions it.

so then, so far we have 2 posters suggesting someone is odious because a) they voted differently to them in the referendum and b) they find her physically unattractive.

No she's odious because she's refusing to accept the vote that went against her.
Posing and grinning like a Cheshire cat every time she spots a camera doesn't help either.

Parliament voted to have the referendum and the people voted to leave.
That is a 'hard' Brexit with anything 'softer' the subject of negotiations.
She, along with a few on here, won't accept that and is trying to delay us leaving despite what she says.
God I feel like Father Ted did when trying to educate Father Dugall

Lets be honest the people who have taken this to court have only one motive and that’s to delay the Brexit proceedings in the hope something might come up that will change the electorates mind (she might be right). Had she and her co-conspirators said this from the start instead of hiding behind some obscure ideal of protecting the integrity of Parliament , whilst disagreeing with her, I might have at least give her credit. Once the wheels were set in motion then the judiciary have to have their say. Its the Law of the Land which we all have to live by. Whoever has been charged with abusing her will also have to live with the same Law,,,,,,and so should the Guardian Reporter who wanted a "Presidential assassination "and for the same reasons. The Law is made to look stupid when it pursues one person for transgressing but conveniently forgets another

teresa may has taken this to court !

not ms millar

she lost first case, and now seeks a second vote
on appeal

all she needed to do was lay a bill before parliament

it would be passed by now

I'm quite suspicious of May - I'm not given to conspiracy theories - least of all create one of my ownLaugh, but I could never shrug off the feeling she is really a remainer; but her own ambitions supersedes the remain/leave argument.

I can't really back-up what I'm saying (other than she was "remain" at the referendum). All the nonsensical sound-bites "Brexit is Brexit", and now this "Red, White and Blue Brexit" nonsenseCry - is for show. She knows the Supreme Court will uphold the High Court decision (as it should). But imo its just more posturing. Is she perhaps playing for time, really hoping legal delays give time to allow events (dear boy, and all of that) to somehow complicate matters, whilst its not seen as her or her party's fault, as they are viewed as clearly trying to implement Brexit?

Or at least, give them more time to figure a possible end-game, they are without a strategy, and that is because the wont/cant get what they want most, access to single market, so the preferred end-position is not known, therefore you can't have a strategy).

Deep-down I think, if this all just "went away" she wouldn't be disappointed.

Theresa May had a month or so to canvass for the leadership before taking over, she then had to appoint a cabinet and approach a massively complicated situation from scratch (40 years of intense integration of laws)that had zero consideration from our supposedly competent civil service and now contends with sustained backstabbing from within and without ? I admire her approach to assess the problems fully before diving in and getting everything wrong, she is different class to the greasey crew that went before.

So you see it as a prison rather than a partnership, and that pleases you? A good job the whole nation is not as weak and servile as yourself.

Leaving aside the rather silly analogies, the fact that us leaving would be punishing was one of my big reasons for voting remain. The EU has its faults, of course it does, but I believe we're better in it and influencing it than being on the outside. And the very act of leaving will almost certainly mean we get a trade deal that reflects that fact and is a deterrent to anyone else with similar notions.

Porp, is it's biggest fault not the fact that it threatens anyone who wants to leave it, with ruin? I think comparing this relationship to an abusive marriage is pretty near the mark, many women are forced to stay in them through fear.

ok how will you influence this scenario, there is due to be a meeting shortly between Juncker, Tusk and Schultz right? Nobody apart from those 3 know where it is or when it is, they are refusing to state what it is about and they are also refusing to allow any recording of the meeting. Now you tell me how the f*** you influence a secretive mob like that?

Remember this quote? it isn't made up you know this was actually said

I think you're dressing it up but yes, you're essentially repeating what I said originally. We will not get a favourable deal as to do so will encourage others to do the same. They'll hardly set out to ruin us, but they're interest is in getting the best for the EU so, for example, they'll be all for the banks looking to re-locate to Frankfurt or somewhere else within Europe as has been mentioned today again as it strengthens them and also is a tangible and real loss for the deserter.

It may not be pretty but politics and business rarely are.

the marriage comparison is right on the money. but you can apply it to a lot of men as well. how many men stay in loveless/sexless marriages for fear of being taken to the cleaners by the divorce courts ?

The various countries that make up the EU have more to lose than the UK.
This notion that the negotiations will be one way are far off the target.
All we are seeing from the EU peep like Juncker is nothing more than posturing.
